That’s fair. I don’t tend to frequent other threads on here much, I was just feeling frustrated about Mass playing well and wanted to vent, saw the Mass thread had been closed.
But you’re right, it doesn’t belong in here.

Dodoro offered a 1 year deal. Hawthorn offered 2 with additional triggers. Mass wanted to stay. Dodoro stuck fat on his original offer. Mass left.
It could easily be argued that our List Manager at the time engineered this.
I agree. Essendon isn’t as strong as some clubs at developing talent. Hawthorn clearly identified a role for Mass and made him believe in himself. I don’t think Essendon were good at making him believe in his ability. Mind you, I’d add that Perkins, Redman, Cox, Jones, Bryan also fall into the the world of bewilderment too.
Do you know of any games that Nguyen has played forward at all or has it all been defense
All in defense from what I’ve seen, but I’ll admit that when I’m working on a game, like doing a Calder game to make a Kako vid, I’m working through the game on 4x speed and fixed on picking out Kako amongst the crowds so it means that I can miss stuff that’s not Kako related. I think if Nguyen had played forward at any point in the games I’ve watched I would have noticed though.
He did play off the wing at times for Metro.
Thanks mate iam very much looking forward to seeing a Nguyen highlight package
People realise negotiations and offers go through a list management committee right and Brad is involved in those discussions.
People also know the club has a policy on the deals typically offered to mid season draftees right?
The primary reason Massimo left is because of his treatment, the lack of opportunity and belief.
Security at hawthorn was nice and a factor, which was ultimately matched.
It’s done now, a great piece of talent identification wasted. Frustrated.
So many aspects of our club are rubbish.
Yet it will be brought up weekly for the next 10 years, so much for the club needing to move forward lol
Disappointing not to have a talented kid like him - but I’d imagine if we kept him we either wouldn’t have Roberts or Duursma on our list. Maybe Mass over Roberts but I prefer Duursma definitely
You could have all three.
I’d love a wing rotation or them. All could take stints on a flank, or rest one the bench then rotate to maintain wing dominance.
I’d have happily let Cox go to see that wing set up work.
Be interesting how many Brownlow votes Mass gets this year surely couldn’t be more than Andy Mcgraths career total
How long is Kako out for?
I don’t disagree but people saying Massimo leaving is solely on Brad is bullshit! There’s plenty of aspects about Brad’s coaching and performance this year that warrants criticism but blaming him for every single disaster irritates me a bit.
syndesmosis, so anywhere from 6-10
I mean he was an absolutely huge factor in not playing him, using him as sub, or throwing him forward.
All of that culminated in him feeling unwanted and undervalued.
So it’s not hard to see how blame is being directed at him.
There are rumours that Massimo came back to Essendon with the 2 year deal from Hawthorn saying I’ll take the year from you but match the triggers and I’ll sign…Dodoro stuck fat and Mass left.
Yes that’s fair and I suppose it’s the same for the list mgt team.
Sadly our club has so many issues and Massimo not wearing our jumper is utterly ludicrous.
That’s absolutely brilliant, fabulous management (no surprises in that one dropping the ball at his end).
But if he had been getting exposure, close coaching, and consistent feedback. Do you think he would have been out there talking to other clubs? I mean, I don’t entertain other job offers or look in other backyards unless I’m disgruntled.
Let’s hope we can bring another couple of talented kids in at draft time. Fingers crossed.
