Hasnt many of our preseason issues been because the players have come back unfit, and instead of working on game plans/structures/skills, the players are wasting the precious training time getting fit?
Regardless of the high altitude benefits, theyâre atleast started trainingâŚ. Which is a massive thing for this club.
It will likely hold the players in good stead injury wise, that theyâll be starting pre-season in shape for once.
Biggest thing more me is what the camp represents. Leaders taking responsibility, a new mindset. Evidence of taking on board âAFL lifestyle. Opportunities for great conversations amongst them. I can only see positives.
I also wonât believe in a ânew mindsetâ at the club until we stop â â â â â â â â the bed whenever the pressure ramps up. See pretty much any game against Collingwood or Geelong over the last 10 years
I have to agree with the ânew mindsetâ thing. Weâve seen this turned on and off amongst the playing group over the years. They pump themselves up for a big preseason, then the following preseason they come back out of shape.
We need to stop congratulating the players for something they should be doing.
I disagree that the Arizona trip wonât do sh*t (as you put it). it will have them fit for preseason, which is a step forward.
