The Best Live Concerts

Radiohead 2012, rod laver
Portishead @ harvest festival 2011 which also had flaming lips, the national and tv on the radio along with many other great bands playing that day, in my top 3 festivals ever attended, probably top.

Oh, and John Butler Trio at the RRR,(?) New Artist tent at the Apollo Bay Blues and Jazz festival doing an arvo show. Dragged my wife out that nite as they were doing a Gig later, b4 Vicka and Linda Bull to see 'em again

Best live concert I’ve witnessed? Memory a bit wonky, it was nearly half a century ago, but easy. Keith Jarrett solo at Dallas Brooks. Why? Cos it was Jarrett, nuff said.
Best live pop/rock recording is harder but I keep returning to The Pointer Sisters Live At The Opera House from 74. Note, this is the quartet, before Bonnie left and and Trio sold out.
Great band and a hip orchestra. Absolutely wonderful.

Incorrect…This concert was in 1981…Spinal Tap came out in 1984.

So it would be fair to say that Spinal Tap was very Roxy Music.

Ha. Was that a Freeza event?

I saw Bodyjar there a few years earlier. It’s actually a really good venue

Sure was.

I remember crowd surfing, stage diving, the lot. Although I did get dropped flat on my face at one point :joy:

Another gig was killing Heidi, only memorable to me because my mate tried cracking on to Ella hooper after the show. Terribly unsuccessfully I will add!

Ive seen lots of live music, but a band ive always been impressed with live is Megadeth. Just technically brilliant.

Opeth were good too on a Metal theme.

As far as stadium rock goes, which is very difficult to do well. I was impressed with ACDC and disappointed in U2.

I also really loved Alice in Chains when I saw them. Was post Layne but the new guy was great.

Ive always wanted to see STP, havent and i guess well with Weiland gone i just dunno if I will. No idea if with the new lead vocalist the band is still good.

I hope they are in the same situation as AIC and one day grace our shores.(or i find myself in the USA able to see a show to find out)

This is one of my favs too

Prime 28d.

Their self titled show last year just didn’t hit the same.

I caught them in Sydney.

They played at the showgrounds. On GWS home deck.

Was a tight and a very good show, but i think its just made special because they rarely tour.(and broke up now didnt they?)

Foo Fighters, Motorhead and Queens of the Stone Age at Hyde Park London 2006. Lemmy joined Foo Fighters to play Motorhead song “shake your blood” then at the end Brian May and Roger Taylor joined to play Queen song “tie your mother down”. Amazing day for sure.

I was trying to remember if there was a specific TISM show from early 90s fests but they’ve blurred into one awesome feast of mayhem.
