The Blitz Aliens Thread

So, the results of the blueprint are all around us. DNA, ( or RNA) in its evolved form.
Who says the self replicating plan embodied in a chain of molecules did not come from outside our solar system ?

whats your definition of life form?

But when you go down that path, you start opening up the idea / possibility that these visitors were responsible for seeding intelligent life on Earth.

I’m guessing that’s not your sorta bag?

Bacteria etc doesn’t count as a life form imo. I don’t believe there are actual beings anywhere in the universe. Could mankind eventually life on other planets. I could definitely see that happening.

To be honest though, I think exploring space and going to planets like the moon,Mars etc is a giant waste of time and money

Have you been watching Prometheus?

To find intelligent life, we need to be supremely lucky with time and location. They would need to be relatively close to us to identify. They would also need to reach intelligence at the same time as us.

An intelligent race could have appeared and then died out 1000 years ago. In a time scale of billions of years, that’s a pretty close time match. We’d have no idea they ever existed though.

For distance, the speed of light is a killer. Communication could take generations to send and receive.

It’s interesting don’t get me wrong, but wouldn’t the money used on getting there etc be better used on the earth for things like feeding starving people, homelessness, healthcare etc

You can’t bring a rock like that home, only small chunks. And then who is going to buy it if it’s worth that much.

Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing footage from space or how the earth looks forms space etc. i find it absolutely fascinating( I’m halfway through a documentary about looking at the earth from space and how things have changed, water flows etc- its amazing to see but also quite sad at how much the rainforests etc are shrinking by the year)). I just feel that the amount of billions they have put into space travel could be better used elsewhere.

Imagine a few hundred tonnes of platinum. Would change the world economy in an instant.

I absolutely 100 percent believe there is life elsewhere.

I’m far from convinced that any can “visit” us.

I read a recent statistical analysis that concluded that most civilisations would have come and gone by now, I think they worked out that the “perfect” window for the Milky Way was about 5 billion years ago, and that statistically a civilisation would burn out (relatively ) quickly.

Thread about aliens posted in the News forum, does not include news.

Am disappointed.

thats my general feeling also, i think we might find historical evidence of life long before we actually make contact with any.

I really don’t think the average person can even comprehend how old the universe is like its a number. but even beginning to fully understand what that number looks like is mind boggling.

give it time

just for you @theDJR

There’s a starman waiting in the sky
He’d like to come and meet us
But he thinks he’d blow our minds

I once saw a UFO decloak, move sideways to avoid low flying light aircraft (I live near an airport), then recloak. This happened mid arvo within 150m of where I stood. It was an orb in shape and approx 10m diameter. Was this advanced human tech or alien craft, I don’t know?

Whether I had witnessed this or not, I do believe we are not alone in the universe.

Hmm. I think I met him a couple of weekends ago.

Just as a funny aside, my biologist wife just got very heated when she read that over my shoulder :joy:
