The concert and gig thread

A few days late, but The Waterboys were excellent at the Tivoli on Monday (Brisbane). I only really knew their earlier stuff, but the stuff I didn’t know sounded great.

Curreny listening to Kasey Chambers (for the first time) at Sandstone Point Hotel, part of the Red Hot Summer tour. Talked an ex-student from Melbourne to come up for the show. More later.

Cruel Sea coming up.

Was getting tix for Reverend Horton Heat at the Crowbar (Bris) and saw they have Huxton Creepers coming up too. Nostalgia trips I can’t resist.

Speaking of nostalgia…

I’ll be heading along to this. Really impressive last time, and to close with a No Use For. a Name track was perfect.

I’ve been travelling around the USA and landed in Washington this afternoon. Managed to get a ticket to Springsteen for $80. He played non stop for 3 hours apart from the couple of rants about trump:joy::joy: Great set list and his voice is still great.

Hope he comes back to Australia one more time.

Not gonna lie…3 hours of even my favourite band would be tough gig for me.

But everyone says he puts on a top flight show. I assume there’s no support acts?

I don’t think there was a support act. I got there 30 minutes before he started. The ticket said 8pm start and he was on stage at 8.01. You don’t really notice the length of the show when they have such an extensive back catalogue. It’■■■■■ after hit after hit.

a memorable gig by the sounds of it.

Massive Attack playing Rod Laver in August. Don’t mind some of their stuff. Teardrop is an all timer for me. Mezzanine is a top notch album too. Considering.

I should’ve seen Beck and Split Enz when they recently toured.

Sisters of Mercy at the Forum in December, I reckon that’ll be worth a look.

I was planning some overseas travel for August, this is something else I’ll have to work around.

I don’t love Rod Laverne’s a venue for them though.
