The concert and gig thread

I saw them at around the same time upstairs at the old Seaview Ballroom in Fitzroy Street. The joint was packed and all the punters dancing and jumping around caused the floor to bounce and shake. I was convinced we were about to have a major catastrophe until I was informed that the floor was on springs and was designed to move.

Pennywise + Circle Jerks was pretty decent.

Was really impressed by CJ, and Hetsons guitar just so much more presence than when he was in Bad Religion.

All round a great night, and worth double the price of admission to see Hetson come on stage with PW and play Bad Religions - ‘Do what you want’

Also, first time in a while I’ve seen people so wasted they spewed, and a chick no less.

And some drunk punter fell off the stage and they had to stop the show, looked like they were going to have to wrap up the gig early.

Got my tickets to Bad Religion and Social D. The Vic Gov rebate of 25% makes it reasonable. Now if they could just change the name of the venue.

I’ve been on a bit of a binge in anticipation. And after the Pennywise show, reflecting on all the old punk rockers at the shows dressed in their favourite band T shirts, and the old guys on stage doing likewise.

Then you see Greg Gaffin these days performing in polo shirt and chinos. Looks like a mild mannered clerk from a post office or something.

Isn’t it great we are able to go back to live music.

Pavement here in March. Got tix to the Palais and the winery show with magic dirt and spiderbait…can’t wait!

Abit of an Essendon flavour.

I went to the Corner last night for Dallas Crane and The Casanovas.

Was a good night.

Going out to see Billie soon.
I’m not a huuuge fan, and I don’t know the words, but she’s pretty good.
So it will be old man Wim sitting in an arena seat tapping his foot.

I haven’t heard screaming like that in a looooong time.
Great gig.
I reckon it would have been a lot of kids first concert tonight. There was a lot of love in the room.

25% rebate?

Enjoyed Billy Eilish with my daughters, one aged 33, the other one 11.
Loving, cheerful, joyous audience sang along melodically to Billie’s words.

Just bought tix for Black Crowes gig November @ the Enmore Theatre
Have seen them heaps over past few decades in various configurations given the Robinson brothers propensity for self destruction, but keen nonetheless. Coupla mates who we all grew up with their music are getting together and taking eldest Harvsfan son

I’m also going.
I saw them last in 93 at festival hall.

29 years is a fair gap.

Long shot here… but if anyone was fortunate enough to actually get through on Ticketek and acquire a ticket or tickets to one of Luke Combs’ concerts in Melbourne… that they no longer want… then please let me know.

Happy to pay overs to a point.

I was in the queue ahead of time on multiple devices for every ticket release but had no luck. It sold out in about an hour. He added a second show and that was the same.

Heading out to the Croxton on October 31 to see Hoodoo Gurus, with Dallas Crane supporting.
Ride at the Forum on Nov 30 to get my inner shoegaze on, then Pixies at the same venue six days later.

My 6yo daughter’s 1st real live music event, besides peppa pig or paw patrol, Baker Boy at the show last night, she loved it.
