The Cricket Thread (part 5) - from March 2023

Maybe not a lot of logic sure ….but Inglis is a bette batter IMO ………Carey has thrown his wicket away at crucial times too many times. If Carey can find a second gear and show better patience and responsibility when needed I’d happily say we should keep him in the team

This ODI final, it is looking ugly, SA would do well to get within 150 runs of WA.

Losing 3 for 4 doesn’t help

Better than I thought we would go with that lineup.
All out 140 was my tip

Agar proving that he is still very much a fantastic white ball bowler.

SA should have stayed in the sheds

This WA side would beat our national ODI side

Agar has 4 wickets somehow but did get hit for 3 6s that over

The Aussies went and had another look at tomorrows venue and apparently they have 3 pitches prepared but won’t announce which one they are playing on until as late as possible

It’s a fair fall from grace for Darcy Short. He was playing ODIs for Australia 3 years ago and now can’t even make the WA team.

What a joke. They really treat test cricket with contempt the way they manage their pitches. The ICC should do something but we know they wont.

Everyone from 4 through to 11 are legitimate bowling options in the WA team. Embarrassment of riches over there.

The ICC would have to ask for the BCCIs permission before doing something.

It must be. Isn’t WA also playing today in the first day of the Sheffield Shield final? Why would CA schedule a clash like that?

Nah I don’t reckon the Shield final is for a couple of weeks yet?

23rd March it’s on

Lots of the discussion watching the Marsh Cup final is how Phillipe and Turner can’t get a game in shield cricket because of the WA depth. They should really move states. Hayden Cartwright and Darcy Short missing out today shows the strength of WA. Shaun Marsh is still in the mix as well.

Crazy

Whiteman is another who would get a game in the 50 over comp for most states who can’t get a game

better options, thats the reality. you look at that 11 today for WA and you simply cant fit him in. in saying that, he’s too good to not be playing.

same with josh phillipe, too good to be playing seconds, he needs a move away for his own career

edit - what redbull said

Barring an injury in grade cricket, Jhye Richardson was supposed to play today as well!
