The Cricket Thread (part 6) - from July 2023 (Bartholemew Frinton-Smythe, Humphrey Wigbert-Porter, and Quinten Breckenridge)

I thought we had brought Ashley Noffke out of retirement.

The boy’s struggling a bit.
Did get one to rise of the pitch nicely, though.

Am I missing something, aren’t we bowling first not second?

Gonna be a massive score unless the rain stops it.

Ummmm…it’s persistently pithing…what are the umpires thinking?

Lol. That was crazy…

Yep my bad! We lost chasing in the last 3 matches in South Africa. Anyway we have lost 4 in a row

India would be eyeing off 400 here.

What a way to lead into the World Cup :flushed:

India B-Team making Australia’s recent No. 1 ODI ranking (lost after the embarrassing effort in SA) look absolutely ridiculous.

It’s OK though. This is apparently just all practice for the World Cup…

Impressive fielding, Zampa, but I wouldn’t recommend it

We normally aren’t great leading into WC’s but this is the first time in my life that I actually give us zero chance of making the semis let alone win it

Most getting games on past reputation only.

Can see what they are trying to do in rotating players each game - but the cupboard is bare, especially when playing on the Subcontinent.

India, Pakistan, England & one of New Zealand/South Africa will be in the Semi Finals.

Yeah this is pretty bad, the worst I have seen us play in some time.

I’m all for choosing to bowl first and send them in, particuarly because of our record is ■■■■ when we do.

It’s the only way we can improve at it.

Terrible form :white_check_mark:
Unsettled, injury hit squad :white_check_mark:

Yuck.

Will we play Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood in the same team?
I assume with Abbott?

Surprised Ellis isn’t the World Cup squad. His bowling is suited to Indian conditions.

No Kohli, Sharma & Patel for the hosts either.

India on track for 420.

Australia all out for about 230-240 in the chase.

Seen this movie before… several times.

To be fair, I reckon this ground is about the size of the forward pocket at the MCG.
