India W finish day 1 at 4/525 off 98 overs.
World record for the number of runs in a day by ANY team in a Test (men or women).
While l only saw that dismissal on a highlights package on You Tube, it did make me smile.
India score 23 off the first 8 balls, 15 off Jansen, 8 off the first two by Maharaj, then Rohit gets caught 2 balls later.

Todayâs been dogshit, can India lose so Iâm slightly happier and can enjoy them all being mad when this tournamentâs fixturing has been set up for them to succeed?
South Africa chokingâŚ
One of the greatest catches you will see in any final
Saffers needed 26 off 4 overs with 6 wickets in hand and bottled it as per usual
That catch just won India the WC
I didnât watch the game live and just catching up with the highlightsâŚ
But this has to go down as one of SAâs biggest chokes in their cricketing history. And thereâs a fair list to choose from.
As for India?
No surprises really that a tournament set up for them to win has turned out the way it has. They would have got a massive scare though in that SA innings and imagine the fallout if they couldnât get it done.
Now that India have finally won a World Cup can we:
Congrats to India, it was theirs to win and they did. Best wishes to both Kohli and Sharma as they retire from T20âs, two champions of the game.
Happy for India to hold the NAB Cup whilst we hold the ones that matter
We have been waiting for them to choke the whole tournament and they left it til one minute to midnight. Honestly, it woild be harder to lose it from that position than actually win it. They have raised the bar again. The gorilla on their back remains and puts on about 20 kgs each ICC tournament.
EFA - final couldnât be played at night to ensure India had 10:30am games throughout the tournament
South Africa were predicted at 95% winning chance to win with 5 overs to goâŚ
It appears that the game winning catch should have been a 6. The boundary rope had been moved back from where it was earlier in the game (presumably someone slid into it) and SKY stepped in the area between where the rope originally was and where it had moved to. The rules of the game are such that the boundary is where it originally was, not where the rope has moved to.
Poor quality screen grab, but the light shaded area is where the rope was. Would have been 10 from 5 balls, with Miller on strike - still plenty of scope for a SA choke.
I donât think thatâs fair.
The fielder canât be expected to know where the rope was, and whoâs to say he wouldnât have adjusted if the rope was in the correct place and taken the catch slightly higher?
Why isnât the actual boundary painted with the fluffy padded rope sat over it?
Bring back the picket fence!
