It’s a farking shambles. A disgrace. The coach and number 3 cannot survive this
Uzi looks like he’s cooked - how the fark he played a hook shot in the second over of play is beyond belief. Stupidity breeds stupidity

Is currently sitting at the bar having a beer
Marnus will be batting 3 in the 2nd Test. They’ll give him another chance.
Indians have the ball zipping off the pitch.
We looked like we were bowling tennis balls.
I’d love to see how that compares to the rest of the side
31.7 is actually higher than I was expecting tbh.
That was ridiculous from Siraj. He was already high fiving Pant before he turned around to look at the umpire.
Being that the coach has just last month signed another contract extension through to the end of 2027, I’m pretty sure he’ll be okay…
If we had another top order batter making runs, I think Marnus probably would be dropped but I expect they’ll be reluctant to put Ingliss in at the top of the order or shuffle everyone up again.
So Marnus will get another test match at least to try and find some form…
Imperious square drive that races to the fence then nearly castled/nicked off the very next delivery. Travis Head is well and truly in the thick of it at the minute.
29 runs from out top 4 across both innings the worst return from our top 4 in Australian test history. Going beautifully- I’m sure there will be no repercussions to anyone
I think they should just select a top order batsman and see how they go instead of shoehorning every player they can who has never opened.
So play Hunt and see how he goes.
If they want to keep Marnus then McSweeney misses out. My preference is they drop Marnus and play McSweeney in his role with Hunt the other opener. Nothing else needs to change. But they need to then stick with that until the end of the series.
I doubt they will do much though and will ride it out for next test and hope someone does something.
So are we excluding Smith because of the nightwatchman?
Konstas is more likely than Hunt. He’s currently 16 not out in the shield match. If he gets a decent score I reckon they will pick him.
Smith hit on pads, on-field call not out. Bumrah going upstairs. I reckon this is very close…
Smith survives. Just
Gee that looked really bad. Zero foot movement and being pinned on the crease will do that.
Yeah quite possibly.
Hunt has scored a 136 and a 62 and is currently 71*
Konstas has scored 105 152 and 73
Either or for me.
Selectors will want to bring some excitement in. A kid does that. Picking a middling shield player of the back of a decent start to a season not so much.
In saying that I think Hunt would be far better prepared to play as a test batter.
My partner just said they don’t deserve drinks.
Compare that!
If we had planned this properly over the last 12-15 months I would hand like to see
Hunt
Sam K
McS
At the top of the order
Sounds crazy but I’d drop Uzi and Marn and bring in Hunt and Sam. Can’t possibly do any worse
Unless Marnus has a sudden change in form he won’t last too much longer.
Uzi has had 25 innings for no 100’s but 5 x 50 and quite a few 40’s. He may be given a bit more time, maybe the whole series to get it right. He is turning 38 in Dec so he hasn’t got long left.
Head and Smith will play the whole series barring anything unfortunate.
I expect if pressure comes for changes it will be Marnus who is pushed out.
