Was the sort of session that would greatly enhance his confidence to become a test batsmen.
To get through a very tough period against quality bowling was a great effort.
Yeah and i cant wait til we go back to normal programming saturday week.
One out of five is perfect.
And always Adelaide. It just suits them.
Brisbane has it next year
Boooooo!
Also, two day Test!
Watching this Phil Hughes doco, bloody hell some of his off side stuff was sublime

Job not done yet though as there is usually a bit of life in the first hour or so each day but we have set ourselves up nicely
Get through the first hour relatively unscathed and up the tempo from there - then get 'em in for around an hour tonight so Starc can do his thing. Easy.
Big day.
If they are batting with an hour to go tonight it means we are probably only 100 in front. I’d much rather we bat until tomorrow night
Certainly had to switch from being yelled at by haydos.

Not if Head and Marsh tee off.
True but I don’t think it will be easy to bat on. Still a lot of cloud around and high humidity. I’d expect the first hour today to be almost as tough as last night and we need to get to the first break with minimal damage to allow Head and Marsh to attack the older ball
Is the heat and humidity a little unusual for Adelaide this time of year!? I know it gets bloody hot in the summer but the humidity?

more pink ball cricket
Absolutely! The more we do it the better it will get as well, what with curators finding out what works with grass coverage and moisture levels etc, etc and ball manufacturers finding that perfect balance. It has already improved immeasurably from the early days.
Getting worse by the year.
Has been pretty bad this year
Glancing over the thread, seems to be lots of moaning about Lab’s innings last night. I thought it was brilliant test cricket. To get to the sheds 1 down with daytime batting to come was a superb result.
Plenty of local cricket clubs have a “Test Match Brunch”
They start around 10:30/11 and finish around 1:30
Food and Drink packages, guest speakers
They are good fun

Both he and McSweeney struggled with their footwork and setup. It was rough watching. Marnus really had a tough time trying to get his first run.
But they both ended up playing it extremely well in very trying conditions against their own poor form and came through. It was brilliant to watch.
