The Day of the Bomber Army March - Pics to Remember

What a great day. What a turn up to the march. What a magnificent effort by CJohns & Co. He shall for ever be known as “CJohns - Champion of Bomberblitz”

Too many pics to choose from so will divide them into two stages - - the march and the pre game in one and the game in the other.

Stage 1 Photos (with apologies to those overlooked or cropped out!)

What else could we start with but “the symbol of all that is good”!

“Excuse me sir. I think you’ve gone to the wrong rally. This is about AFL football!”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
12.05pm and the crowd is building fast. The simple message is clear.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
“Yes we are sir and I share your passion.”

Girls, I’m sure the 34 and Hirdy are grateful for your message of support.

A sea of Red n Black flags and banners fly as the first of the rallying choruses commences.

These young guys did a great job of rousing the troops.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Like many supporters, this young man made the effort to display his colours and to take in the awesome atmosphere.

34 turns of the siren by this young supporter calls this march to commence.

Thanks Sam and son. You’ve been staunch in your support and belief in the innocence of our players from the beginning.

The Fish and other great Bomber men add to the value of the march.

Time to get out of the way as the Bomber hordes march to the 'G". The photo doesn’t do justice to how big a turnout.

The players enter the arena to an honour roll welcome by past Essendon greats.

Breaking through the banner and pumped for action.

The first bounce and Leueny times his jump better than Gawn.

Joey at it again using his strength height and timing to take a strong mark towards the City end.

Eyes on the ball at a boundary throw-in near the Members side wing (except for BJ who’s ready to block his opponent).

Walla shows great spring as he leaps to spoil Gawn in a marking contest.

That is a massive relief.
Recently purchased sunnies on Ebay with white frames and blue lenses.

This pic proves they are ‘cool’ and ‘hip’ !

Parish cuts lose and drills the ball to full forward resulting in a Kommer goal.

Siren time and teammates show their elation at the win.

Just driving home now (passenger!)…4 hours but loving the photos, reviews & joy! Still smiling. Thanks KB & fellow Blitzers!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Michael Hartley kicks chips his first goal in the AFL from outside 50.
Fixed. He tapped it 65m.

Hartleys photo is a perfect example of generating the power for a kick with your body.

Joe should study it through a mirror.

Ripping pics !

Fantastic pics karmabomber!! Thanks!

Magnificent work.

Wow, great pictures KB.

To see such a large group gather and march really shows the spirit we still have across the supporter base, despite all the crud of the last few years. I am so happy for all of you who were able to get there and be part of the day. What a fantastic day, what a fantastic win.

Awesome pics, KB! Lots to love about yesterday.

The young guys you mentioned rousing the troops are in the cheer squad.

Thanks Karma you never fail to deliver. Great pics.

Oh and the pic of the 2 women holding the sign ‘We Support the 34 and James Hird’ that’s my hand at bottom of the sign  (without the band) had been talking to them just prior to the pic and moved out of the way for the pic to be taken. If I known it was you would have said g’day.

That is a massive relief. Recently purchased sunnies on Ebay with white frames and blue lenses.

This pic proves they are ‘cool’ and ‘hip’ !

Sam Newman looks like a farking Thunderbird.

It’s missing moments like these that make me wish I lived in Melbourne…

Kudos to all involved.

Awesome pics, KB! Lots to love about yesterday.

The young guys you mentioned rousing the troops are in the cheer squad.

The two in the first pic are the most amazing supporters. They just go and go all day, no matter how the scoreboard’s looking.
