You are a hell of a dog dad. Gentle hugs to young Rocky. May he be rocketing around in no time. XO
Thanks Darli. He will be getting spoilt alot more than normal. The biggest battle in the next week or so is to try and keep him calm and from jumping around too much.
Good luck to both you and Rocky.
ps: when I die I want to come back as your dog. Your care and love for him is inspiring.
Iāve been thinking of you both today & hoping it all went well. Itās wonderful that you will be staying by his side as I imagine heās feeling pretty worried after what heās been through. (We often looked after a good friendās staffy and he was a big baby. )
Hereās hoping that the margins are all clear and that the tumour is low grade.
Heās a beautiful boy @Tezzalenco.
Thanks Reboot. We would do anything for our boy. You are very kind.
Thanks loyalandproud. He is definitely a big baby as well.
Working breeds and working lines will almost always be healthier than dogs bred for ācompanionshipā.
Itās as true for working German shepherds as it is for working Dachshunds.
Australia has produced some of the healthiest and long lived working breeds in the world; kelpies, heelers and koolies will often get to 15 before they start to slow down. I think koolies have an average lifespan of 18 or something ridiculous.
Thatās great @Tezzalenco and am sure Rocky will love having you so close by after his surgery.
Hope Rocky recovers well from surgery and gets a good result re his tests.
( I made my hubby sleep in the spare room for 3 nights so I could sleep with my girl after her surgery a couple of years ago )
Thanks miss ellie. We have a camp out in the lounge room every now and then with myself, Rocky and my son and Iām always curled up on the edge of the bed while those two take all the room. This time I told my son he can sleep on the couch to give Rocky some roomš
All the best to Rocky and you and family mate, give him a gentle cuddle from all on blitz.
Cheers Mateš
At the AEC at the moment. Walking pup today (on lead) and an unsecured British bulldog came out of a yard and went full on attack. Very hard to get him off of Maddox. So furious right now. Couple of puncture wounds and incredibly lacklustre. Is the most trusting dog Iāve ever met. Hoping this doesnāt change his personality
So sorry to hear this. Hope Maddox recovers quickly - physically & emotionally. Very distressing for you both.
Really sorry to hear about Maddox. It is a shocking thing to happen . Hope that Maddox makes a speedy recovery. All the best with everything.
Havenāt been in this thread for a while and saw the huge number of posts and had a bad feeling about it. @Tezzalenco - everything crossed for you mate.
Thanks mate. Vet reckons antibiotics and painkillers should see him through. As for the neighbourā¦
Hope Maddox is OK, lots of tender loving care required along with painkillers and antibiotics.
If you can perhaps approach your neighbour about what happened as they may not know.
(in a neighbourly way )
