:frowning: so sad and looks exactly like my Border Collie which really hits home. My thoughts are with you @Humble_Minion, I am sure he had a good life, your Mum must be devastated.

they can be resilient, I have a Shitzu/Maltese cross going on 17 years

Edit: Deaf as a door nail but keen for a weekly walk and still jumps and sprouts about for a few seconds a day

I almost had to put her down last year.

one day she wouldn’t move so I took her the vet .she couldn’t walk properly when the vet was examining her she was stumbling and falling on her face .

The vet thought that she might have a problem with her spine or brain tumour but wasn’t 100% sure unless I got her an MRI which would have cost me over 4k money I didn’t have.

So the vet gave me some steroids to see if they would help and if she stayed the same for a few days then I would had to put her down but some how she made a merricaolusy recovery and was back to normal

Couldn’t believe it was like nothing happened

Sorry to hear that HM. Try and remember the good times rather than dwell on the end.

What a beautiful face! I am so sorry to hear your news @Humble_Minion. As I mentioned before, our last dog Zac was in much the same situation - a broken leg from bone cancer. Even though it is the right thing to do, saying goodbye is heartbreaking beyond words. My deepest sympathy & thoughts are with you & your mum.

Not my lawn unfortunately.
It’s the ex’s.
She takes great pride in it.

You have a dog that doesn’t spread out and hog the middle of the bed?

Oh lucky man Nino!

Pepper (purebred mutt) is in hospital.

Came down a bit sick yesterday, and not jumping.

vet diagnosed kennel cough plus a bung tooth plus a re-sprain of her already sprained ACL.
And put her on anti-inflams and antibiotics.

Fast forward to today, off her tucker (which we didn’t think too much of, given the previous diagnoses), but worryingly she stopped being able to walk up even small steps, and couldn’t pick up her back foot properly.

Off to the emergency vet, they picked up that her gums were real pale. Ran two sets of bloods. Heavily anaemic, but no real answers yet as to why. Suspect either a tumour somewhere, leading to internal bleeding, or she’s gotten some rat poison.
