The Dog Thread

We are heading off for the weekend so Rocky’s going to stay at his favorites kennel. He loves it down there and he is a bit of a favourite of theirs. As soon as he gets there he runs off with the girls and forgets about us pretty quick. I think he must have a girlfriend down there because everytime I pick him up he won’t look at me all the way home😆. He has claimed my son’s booster seat as well.

Have you tried putting an old-fashioned clock in the bed with her ? The ticking is said to sound like her mother’s heart-beat. Wrap it up in a towel.

The first night was… uh… interesting… Since then we’ve discovered that if we can put her to bed dog-tired (pun definitely intended) she’ll go to sleep straight away and stay down until she needs to pee (which last night was about 2:30 pm). There’s a bit of commotion then, but nothing too bad, and she settles back down again. This morning she was still settled when we came downstairs at 7:30.

On the whole, it’s not been too bad, and it’s definitely improving. Nonetheless, I’ll keep your suggestion up my sleeve, as it sounds like a neat trick. Just to find a “tick tock” style clock from somewhere… not certain we have one in the house…

I want to punch people who are importing these collars glad the Australian Border Force is putting a ban on them

Oh… once she’s toilet trained, she’ll be at the foot of the bed for sure. At the moment she still equates carpet to grass, so is limited to the tiled areas.
Well on the way though… she’s worked out the dog door and it was only midway through day 4.

Mum lost her dog a couple of months back, I’ve been spending a bunch of time on dog rescue websites trying to help her find a new one to adopt. She and her hubby have a pretty specific list of requirements, and I think he in particular wants another border collie, and they’re really hard to come by, especially in Vic where basically every dog in the state got adopted over lockdown.

It’s a double-edged sword. Dunno if I’m helping all that much, but I’m DO keep finding dogs I want to adopt for myself. Like this girl.

She is absolutely gorgeous & has the most loving gentle eyes.
Reckon she’d love to go home with you.
I hope it works out for you all.
Sorry I can’t be more help with the border collie search but there’s a few Blitzers who have them who may be of more help.

Little Yoshi has been welcomed into the Klawdy household.

Slept very well first night and has had only 1 accident so far. Very impressed.

What kinda oodle is he?

He’s a labra.

My preference was for a smaller breed but Mrs. K. did a pretty convincing argument of price, availability and cuteness of parents and older siblings.

Let’s face it, she was always going to win.

Thanks L&P. I’ve found that the biggest challenge so far is trying to photograph a black dog. Especially in artificial light.
