The trees and plant life in QLD are different to southern parts and in Nov / Dec provide great colour. These are Poinciana trees. They’re certainly attractive and in abundance on the GC atm
Pretty sure I threw up under that last one when I was 16
Pretty sure the same tree was posted in this thread by the same poster about a week ago.
Sorry They’re majestic though. The photo doesn’t do them justice.
Barwon Heads weather strange, not same every farking day but a full Summer assured and a proper winter.
A bit of Tassie, now getting the summers we used to get on the mainland. We should redirect this thread to the Climate Change one
Tony Cochrane lives on the canal right next to The Southport School. His 3 story house on the market. They’re saying $9.5M+! (Right). Its been in the media so all good.
I’ve gone past there many times on the JetSki ……it’s a fine looking house
Make believe Hamptons, and having stayed in the Hamptons, what’s the fuss? Conservatives all over loving their white houses and working hard against replenishing their staff supplies. Vale Shane McGowan and his partner in crime Kirsty McColl, killed by life and a speeding farkwit in a leisure craft on a dumb beach respectively. Merry Xmas Fools Gold Coast.
I’m working late.
What a legend Tony Cochrane is, was great for the game.
Seems that the Glorious Gold Coast is living rent free in a sunny corner of some southern detractors minds! So much so that they are some top contributors to this Glorious thread! Keep up the good work!
Why are they building cheap ■■■■■■ bars on public beaches? I feel dirty for visiting the GC thread so much, but all the best people are here and it’s just so good.
To make you feel welcome. They do this in Melbourne. Have you visited St Kilda ?
People don’t actually realise how good he’s been for QLD / GC AFL. Yes, the Suns have had a bumpy existence, however what Cochrane has done up here for the code is immense and in 10 years the fruits of his labour will be evident. He’s been amazing.
I lived there for a few years, apart from the odd smacky and the indigenous people in the park no tents, but I’m sure the yuppies have changed that. In any case the people in that pic look pretty white and alright, it’s a cool scene bro. St Kilda is a bit of a dump but it’s got soul, GC is what a nice old beach town becomes when greed goes unchecked. Good for kids and oldies because neither care much.
I appreciate your pitch, and thanks for the croissants (seriously couldn’t tell they were supermarket), but the time share isn’t for me. If I have to be in Qld there’s about every other place I’d choose. Bacchus is your guy, I’ve still got at least a decade of life left to live without nappies, fingers crossed.
Sunshine Coast
I like many parts of Queensland not just the GC. Cairns and PD are beautiful as is the Sunshine Coast - there’s a place for you somewhere in the Sunshine State I’m sure @Loflyer
Maybe we change this thread to Glorious Queensland to make it more inclusive? @Nexta @dmaplestone
I agree. Took us way too many years to realise this.
Sunny, scattered cloud, slight breeze and 27° currently.
I loved a beautiful fire in winter, but I don’t miss it enough to move back. Also no aching fingers and hayfever gone! (Last attack I had was a month ago at the motogp at Phillip Island). It has been truly life changing.
(I do miss going to as many live Essendon games- you can of course but more $$).
It is a special part of the world close to beaches & forests. (& a huge choice of great motorbike roads ).
Should be the next AFL chairman imo. Everything he is involved in grows immensely and he is the best promoter I’ve seen in Australia.
