The Glorious Gold Coast

Is that also the 20 only things to do while on the lame coast?

Talking of bucket list ……I went diving with the sharks on the Goldie …….I’ve now done it a few times ……on Palm Beach reef ……interestingly first time I dived on that reef a 4m Great White turned up 3 days later and stuck around at Palmie for a few weeks

The gold coast might be getting more footy in the next few years with the absolute stitch up the qld government just pulled on the lions and cricket.

jealous and parochial are perhaps more accurate.

Yeah I just saw that. The govt didn’t even give the impacted parties a heads up. Its farcical. Who knows what’s going to happen during the GABBA rebuild.

It’s disgraceful. The government choose to steamroll the gabba, it kicks the lions out for 4 years no doubt losing heaps of money with lesser crowds, now want them to put in for a temporary stadium and no compensation for losses incurred being out of their stadium for 4 years?

The lions could go ask the federal government for some money, but albo is too busy giving his pet project (an overseas nrl team) $600 million of aussie taxpayer dollars.

Do all GC denizens imagine everyone else is from Melbourne? Also, imagine being depressed by weather. Insects and lizards come out for sun, otherwise hide. Get some resilience you beach bums.

Ha! The govt here have lost control, period. Today’s bungle did blindside the Lions though. Hopefully they can work it out, a strong Lions / Suns is important with Aussie Rules really creeping up on NRL on the GC. It’s great to see AFL gaining traction in schools etc. Hopefully Dimma can get them going at Metricon. If AFL can keep up momentum, Gold Coast could certainly be an AFL region in the medium term.

No problem with growing the game in QLD but hope the Suns never play finals. Screw them and their toilet of a stadium

Ha. I reckon the initial impulse of the thread, which was Nexta feeling butthurt about GC criticism but taking it on like a trooper in his spare time from Ukraine, has been taken down one of those streets in the GC where you see shaved blokes green putting in their little turf yards fronting the unswimmable canal. I’m always fascinated by what fellow Australians experience as paradise. I’ll dip my toe knowing there’s blunt headed sharks.

I reckon they’re coming, Ace. There’s a definitely feeling about them up here. In a game development sense, if (?) then start winning finals, the next layer of growth will be unlocked with kids becoming teens etc.

We don’t really know who nexta is. I initially thought he was an international arms dealer working his 3 phones out of a byron cafe.

But he could just as well be a trooper holed up in a bunker in Ukraine pining for some Queensland sunshine and sweet topless pineapples.
