72 years I believe. And its just plain silly.
I love fender stuff. Great guitars. Great amps. But I hope they fail miserably at this. Its so unnecessary. A bully boy move with no winners.

If i If i were offered any guitar in the whole world on the condition that this one goes in the chipper, I would just keep this one. Had it since 1990 and has been my no 1. for just as long. Early 80ās, Alder body, pre lawsuit and a better guitar than Fender were making in the eighties.
I have not received a letter as yet.

Fenders quality control has been crap years. I was fender dealer for 10 years, so many guitars came with warped necks , neck pockets that werenāt cut properly. You have to play 50 of them to find a good one

I see lots of podcasters and various internet guitar people saying they will boycott Fender and sell their guitars ect.
I donāt see the point of that, just buy them 2nd hand so Fender donāt benefit.
Itās puzzling, and unnecessary.
I hope they donāt do this crap with basses as well.

Thereās a news.com.au article (puff piece) from a couple of years ago about this CEO guy where it claims he auditioned for the INXS frontman gig, and āimpressedā the band, but that he decided that Michael Hutchence was irreplaceable and so didnāt continue with the auditions!!! Hilarious.

Speaking of outrageously silly guitar things: the new Marshall Hendrix half stack.
Looks ridiculous and nothing like anything Hendrix ever played. And spec wise not quite there either. Also and probably the most infuriating part, Marshall have teamed up with Dunlop to create a new Fuzz Face to go with it:
Specifically based off his Isle of Wight tone and different to the other two Jimi Fuzzes in the Dunlop stable (the excellent teal silicon fuzz and also good but small BOG fuzz) its only available with the amp. Utter madness. Iād love to buy that pedal. Ugly purple alien space ā ā ā ā included. But ā ā ā ā that amp.

It sounds the same as any other affordable short scale. Itās well inside the carry on limits so you never have to check it.
It just needs a good set-up to make the action a bit more to my liking.
No, I get that.
But you can see how it feels wrong.
Edit. Screw it. Itās more important that you can take it with you.

Ha. For me no, for others maybe yes.
For me it is my most conventional guitar.
You should see the carbon fibre offset sound hole numbers.
They will wrinkle your brain.
If I use and like this one enough maybe Iāll upgrade, but they arenāt cheap.

Interesting. Good guitar set-ups (neck, string height, intonation) are done within fractions of a mm. Would be impressive if this thing can be quickly reassembled within those sorts of parameters.
