Don't care about the saga, this is an unmotivated side with a coach that can't motivate them.
Season stinks like a corpse.
for what reason do you think they’re unmotivated?
In loss, there are 5 emotional stages that people pass through.
You are still in denial!
You have more faith that a Richmond supporter!
There was a time when I had you on ignore but you’re way too amusing (and delusional) to miss
Sooo, let me get this right. If we finish 15th (where we are now) or 16th as most predict; we have to sack our coach. By extension any team below us has to terminate all their coaching staff and board members - as Essendon are apparently required to do.
And why just this year? Of course, every team finishing in the bottom four has to sack their coaches, boot studders and board members because the press want headlines and some ‘White Feather’ key board warriors demand success to feel good about themselves.
Every farken year since the competition first began, teams finish on the bottom of the ladder. You know, if you support your team through the bad times, the good times feel all that more special. Maybe some of you on here haven’t lived through that experience yet.
This blog-site has some trolls who manage to post on a regular basis white-anting the club, the team and the coach at every opportunity. I’m just surprised that some of the more regular posters that I’ve followed at a silent distance for years are now conforming to the call of the masses.
At the end of the day - majority rules I suppose. I know I’d hate to be in the trenches with some of you guys depending on your intestinal fortitude to stay alive.
Prerequisites:
- preferably not be from a Victorian club right now other than Hawthorn
- must be at a top 4 club right now
- must have zero previous involvement with Essendon
Assistants + head coach.
Yep, agree with all of that.
Give them free reign to bring in whatever staff or assistants they want in.
I have been in love with the Essendon football club since my father first took me to windy hill in the middle 50’s. I have been to nine bomber grand finals and left six of them deliriously happy. I have adored the ‘boys’ who have played for the mighty dons for almost six decades and have hardly missed a game in all that time., until this year. I am no longer in love with the bombers. I have missed three of the past four home games. It saddens me to see what has happened to the club I have always been proud to say I am a member of. I wish the James Hird time as coach had never happened. My club is on its knees but I have had enough. Yes, changes have to be made. I want
to fall in love again.

The Saga.
Perhaps the players though could do better if the person they see at work each day isn’t the person on the back page every day who is the face of the saga.

I know why you are saying that, and I’d probably look at Dew and Bolton before him for the same reason, but Caracella is highly rated and we’d be foolish to not look at him simply because of his connection to us IMO.
That is of course only in the hypothetical where Hird resigns/is sacked, neither of which I think will happen.
Dont think any coach could motivate them, imagine an outsider coming in and asking the players to lift......they'll be like, you got no farkin idea what we are going through.
Yeh I don’t know about that. You get a guy like Worsfold (for example) who has been there, built a side from the bottom, won a premiership, successful in finals, I reckon guys would listen to someone like that. A complete and total outsider.

This is of course IF we go away from Hird.
Worsfold would also be able to convince them that he believed they were innocent. He’s a man who knows what a team really on drugs looks like.
