we need to think outside the box a bit

biggest thing we need short term is good people management. so someone with both a footy and business background. maybe someone with a good education in both. like, studied at insead, along those lines

not sure if there’s anyone out there who fits that bill. would be amazing if there was

I love Hirdy as much as the next guy, but people can’t be serious. You think it’s distracting having Merrett at the club this year? Hird as coach would be a circus. We need to move on.

Hird is absolutely not the logical or rational choice.

But this is sport.

Sport is about stories and there would be no better story in the history of the game than Hird coming back and turning our club around.

If we go with a logical, rational choice then fantastic.

If we go with the greatest Essendon player and leader I’ve ever seen then he certainly will have my support.
