The new Essendon Coach [spec]

Really? It can’t be that long

Media reckon after the bye the club will announce what it’s doing

Justin Longmuir was appointed in 2019

2020 was his first year has taken Freo 6 years to get to this point where they can contend

Which ever coach we get next has to be given time to build the list and system no more sacking and paying out coaches every 3-4 years

There were calls to sack Longmuir but the club stuck fat.

For once in your life Essendon have a plan, stick with it and see it through

As long as the plan is good.

Club has no choice but to nail this next coach if they don’t then shut the joint down

I agree with this, the other thing that puts him to the front of the queue, he know what’s it’s like to coach a big Melbourne club and the pressure that comes with that.

No more ex senior coaches

Your right but lets get him back lols

I don’t know about Buckley. he comes across as such a FIGJAM I can’t see him being effective at building relationships. Also he wants Tasmania.

Appreciate it

It’s going to be rough we probably have another 2-3 seasons like this year but the club must stick fat and see it though

Luckly the new coach has some pieces of the puzzle to work with wont be the same list that Brad started with

Brad had players who were going well like Redman and Langford but they went backwards.

I would have him top of the list for first time senior coaches. Big wraps on him.

Anyone who can’t see this has NFI!!!
This is A1 culture building and it’s been non existent for years. Moving to Tullamarine hasn’t helped either

Watch out, Mr Bruce Francis has stepped back into the spotlight with a facebook rant. I think he feels he is defending, but it will hurt the Hird campaign in the long run IMHO

Imagine if Robey wins us a flag and in 20 years we say that he’s not welcome at the club because he’s from a bygone era.

It would have been interesting if Hird had been appointed instead of Scott. Would we still have Stringer, Massimo, Voss on the list? Would he have developed Hobbs, Davey’s, Tsatas etc? Would Perkins, Cox, Jones have dropped off as much as they have? If they had developed would we have needed a full rebuild?

This is a big part of why I don’t want Hird back is it just brings up all the nonsense of the saga
