The Pizza Thread

My uncle worked at Big Al’s in Rowville making the pizzas. They would drink while on the job and as the night went on, the more toppings were added to each one.

Downside is you would be sick of pizza nearly every night.

Pretty sure dominoes share price goes up when the economy goes down.

Exsqueeze me?? :no_mouth:

It’s about 70 to 80% cheaper normally. (As compared to the 15 to 18 dollar large types, … for the same quality)

I would agree if you make them on a regular basis and have all the ingredients as a part of your normal pantry, but definitely not if you have to go out and buy all the ingredients from scratch. Spent in excess of $70 last time I was home to make 6 pizzas, so maybe 20% cheaper, but not 70% to 80%. From scratch about 12-13 dollars per pizza. (Obviously dependent on toppings)

I’ve tried two local places since I’ve been back, and they were both very good. One was a place in Bacchus Marsh called Sopranos and the other is one of the places in the East Keilor centreway. Might have been Stefano’s, I think?

I too prefer very light or no toppings… a margherita or sometimes pepperoni, which you guys call an “Americana”, although we never put ham on it.

I heard a story, can’t remember where I heard it, where a domino’s got shut down cos they found ■■■■ on a pizza.
Turns out two of the blokes who worked there were rooting each other in the kitchen.

Sounds like an urban myth tbh, their kitchens are too busy and too open - unless of course it was a dominos gang bang…that would be one with the lot right…

For Bakerr who was asking for recommendations in the East, Pizza 72 in the Heathmont shopping village on Canterbury Road is great for Italian style woodfired. I find the imaginatively named ‘yummy’ pizza and pasta on maroondah hwy opposite Ringwood Square great for the aussie style conveyer belt pizza.

As a kid I loved pinkys pizza on Mitcham Road who sold hot jam doughnuts made from surplus pizza dough, and big daddy’s on scoresby Road which was sadly taken over by dominoes

Done some further digging

Not a Dominos.

But it is absolutely legit. Mrs P’s mate works at council.

Is a chain store?

No. Independent. And, TBH, from the outside it looks filthy.

Still cap bs.

If there is fecal matter in the kitchen it’s from not washing your hands. Two blokes going at it in the kitchen sounds like an urban myth to me.

Edit: oh different 4 letter word. Well I’ll be. That changes everything :joy:

Pizza D’Asporto in Williamstown and Yarraville do very good authentic pizza and have nice Italian wine and desserts to complement. They’re not cheap by any measure but they are very good and have great service. Not too many places packed out on a Wednesday night in the local shopping centre.
