Yeah, the one bright side of Stringer going for me was that we could replace his role with another small.

I wouldn’t have thought a mature mid-sized forward was high on our list of priorities, though it seems I would be wrong on that.

People have concerns about our forward line having enough talent to kick enough goals. It’s the end of the ground we should definitely be investing in IMO.

That being said, Scott will probably play him on a wing or something.

He absolutely flushed it apparently

I’ve got concerns about our forward line too. But those concerns relate to finding big clunkers and small pressure forwards.

100% agree.

Never have medium forwards been less in vogue than now.

Jake Kelly on the wing :rofl::rofl:

Man I will never get over that. How dumb can you be.

I know a medium forward that kicked 42 goals last year.

I want arrogance and the confidence to nail a goal after the siren and take mark of the year.

This is ESSENDON.
We don’t kick them, only concede them.

Y’all be begging to get him to a 100 games after he kicks the match winner and impregnates all the ladies watching on ANZAC day.

All of them you say?

Bring him in. With endurance like that he’s got to be a brilliant two-way runner.

The Collingwood ones? That is a nightmare nobody could recover from

Need to get him to 100 games could field a team of father sons.

It really depends on their athleticism and speed and other attributes though. A 191cm player who has the acceleration and defensive attributes of the good smalls, with the ability to win the ground ball, read the ball off packs and stand on guys heads to take screamers, is a valuable commodity. One who kicks goals but doesn’t chase or defend and is only a borderline overhead target, not so much.

As a comparison, Brisbane’s grand final side had the following named as forwards or on the bench as forwards.

Lohmann 185cm, Rayner 187 cm, Berry 192cm (not really a “forward though”) Morris 191cm.

At least Morris and Rayner are mid forwards, and you’d say guys like Dunkley rotate through there. I reckon as long as they bring the right attitude and attributes it’s fine.
