Has Baldwin been in the rehab group again
How many goal Tom Edwards kick?
He has been in and out. But has played the match sims, unfortunately can’t say he has impressed to the levels he has in the past
I’d say it’s probably time to cut him loose then.
It has been interesting that they looked at sellers as well as a forward option and now another so we must feel that we light in the forward line and are backing in Reid Hayes and Laverde down back
Question I gotta ask, is do we need another 191cm forward?
Almost enough to cover the loss of Stringer goals.
Hi Tom, I’m Brad…have you ever played on the back flank before ?
Just saw some clips on YouTube. High flyer is a fair description. Bloke can take a hanger.
Will be interesting to see. Would have thought Sellers would get a chance.
Looks a bit like Lohman from Lions based of that footage
Tom Edwards is 191cm. That’s Langford height. And he isn’t a spring chicken at 25 years old.
I would have thought with Stringer out, we could restructure the forward line to have an extra small like the rest of the league, so hopefully we do go down that path.
Edwards looks more like a medium sized forward and we’re ‘thinking/hoping’ that Perkins will move forward to take Stringer’s spot if we go to a similar forward group as last year.
It sort of makes sense because it’s one of the few sports (high half forward is the other) where we don’t have depth or someone developing in that position. And I’m assuming Laverde switched forward is plugging one of those depth gaps. Still hoping we re-structure though than resort to Edwards or Laverde in the forward line.
Can do three of Caddy / Draper / 2MP (Draper mainly ruck), two of Langford / Jones / Perkins and three of Gresham / Kako / Guelfi / Menzie / ADJ (one rotating off the bench).
That’s without sticking Durham as a high half forward. Caldwell could also spend some time there too to give midfield rotation time to others.
Can also switch 2MP and Bryan if you want Bryan first ruck and Draper as a tall target in the forward line.
Can also play Cox forward. Hobbs too.
We should have plenty of options before we resort to Edwards or Laverde.
I still think the most glaring deficiency we have (that is probably addressable via supplemental pick) is leg speed. We still don’t have that many guys who are legit fast. I’d prefer we targeted that.
The absolute most pressing need is quality ball users but it’s probably hard to address that with a supplemental pick (although, we did get Nic Martin).
Problem the quick one sa probably all gone, when you get to this stage of recruiting there will be very few gems left if any. The ones left will have big deficiencies. That is why Martin was an outstanding get. Everybody passed on him and he has turned out a beauty. I think the SSP is time to add a bit of depth pick up someone you hope will be OK.
Yeah, I can appreciate that view on an SSP. I think it’s probably what the club will do, hence they’ve had Baldwin and Hoare training prior.
I’d prefer we saw it as a free swing at a high risk, high reward player. If they don’t make it, who cares. But we get someone with real clear upside if they do make it.
I wonder when he commences his stint?
The article states next week, we don’t come back from the AUS holiday break until Thursday, so I suspect then.
Gives him about 2.5 weeks to impress

[/quote]………which means someone at Essendon passed the “Vision Test”
Just as well 17 other Clubs were all blind!
Based on what? He was so bad it was funny in his senior games.
