Yeah, one of Lonie’s problems is consistency. Which is also something we need to improve on as a team, and I don’t think bringing in a guy with that as an issue will help us improve.
I don’t see him as a long-term, make us better, option. I see him as a we have nothing else and just need someone who has shown, even sporadically, that he is competent at AFL level.
Jack Lonie? Just been cut…needs to find his hunger again. We might look at him but hopeful we’ll politely decline! Fejo jnr looks nice but his highlights didn’t have a lot of him playing as a small forward; but maybe as a project type player there is a lot of potential upside here.
I heard Dodoro mention kicking as being a KPI for us. Potential PSSD selections and existing fringe players probably need to be viewed through this prism.

Well, he’s ours to lose right? Any other club can just come along and list him, it that correct?
I don’t think that’s how it works. If he talked to another club and both parties agreed, they could list him, but they can’t just list him and ■■■■■■ him away from us without his permission. It’s not a draft as such.
Edit: This swear filter gets a bit ridiculous at times.
Opposite of Blue Collar = Jack Lonie.
You are spot on. Its the exact same thing we tried with Anthony Scott from the Dogs - we offered but he had said no - there has to be an agreement. I imagine it would only happen if a club came and offered him a deal and then we said no to matching it or giving him a similar deal.

It’s not willingnes, it’s size, like Ham at the same age.
Sorry Ben, can’t compare the 2. This kid has skill to burn, reads the play and, most imprtantly, has time with the ball. How in the hell did 18 clubs over look his potential in 2 drafts? Staggering!
Even if he doesn’t make it, the updide if he does is finals wins! Ala Cyril Rioli.
PS: Thanks @All-Star_Bomber_18 for starting the thread

I heard Dodoro mention kicking as being a KPI for us.
And then we drafted Voss, whose kicking is one of his weaknesses.
Not to say we should or shouldn’t have drafted Voss - I’ve never seen the kid play. But it’s clear that this particular KPI is a negotiable one.
The door marked “in-between sized goer” never needs a key at the Hangar.
I love the highlight reel for Fejo, my question is, why was he playing reserves?
Legit question, not a swipe at him.
It said he played round 11 and 12 in the seniors so what held him back from regular appearances if he has the skills that were on show in the clip?
hard NO to jack lonie
Brought this here.
Trainees?
- Stretch, Preston and Grintell as all three are small forwards who got combine invites. All three read like decent options.
- Fejo as seems to fit needs
- Wanganeen and Moore as fit needs, builds community and the links to the club

how does someone with a highlights package like that not get picked up in the draft?
He didn’t even get a combine invite.
Edit: its been pointed out this is incorrect, he did get an invite. The list I looked at first didn’t include him.

He’s 19.
Just

He’s like a DFA in a sense. Anyone with an SSP spot can sign him, but he has to agree.
He’ll be a handy pick up

To be fair 194 is “good sized goer”.
Especially since the way these things work he’ll be 196 by February.
He’s ■■■■.
You’re not on your loniesome there for thinking that.
I’m on the Fejo train. Reminds me so much of Andy Lovett.
Lovett was my favourite player until… You know…

He didn’t even get a combine invite.
The article earlier up the page said he did.
Then maybe I’m incorrect, he wasn’t on the list I checked.
