It’s really a difficult call this year.
I reckon Pogacar will attempt to put Vingegaard in trouble in the first week as it really suits him.
Vingegaard’s condition is really unknown, but I expect he’s underdone, which might mean he really comes good in the last week.
And nobody is talking about Roglic, who has a great support act. This years TdF parcours should really suit Roglic.
Once they add pithie next year they will be a force
Some race just started.
Bardet first time (and possibly only time, haven’t looked at the coming stages) in the yellow!
Cavendish was well cooked; his team escorts him over the line more than 39 minutes behind the winner, just under 10 minutes before the elimination cut-off.
Struggling with a stomach bug they say.
Ausssie RR team for the Olympics.
Men is Matthews, Plapp and Clarke. Groves should be in the team.
women is Roseman-Gannon, Brown and Hanson which is a good selection.
Stage two of the TDF - Looks like break will take the stage. Matthews tries to make the break but too late.
Schmid wins the GC at Slovakia. Jayco took three stages with Foldager, Englehardt and the TTT. Schmid should be at the TDF.
How good is it when you can watch the
TDF knowing you rode up these same roads
And yes it was tough day
19yo Australian Cameron Rogers (Lidl development squad) gets his first pro win in the prologue of Tour of Austria. Nephew of the great Michael Rogers.
Good going if you can beat Ganna!
That bunny hop over the crashed rider with 50m to go!!!
Also, Cooked Cavendish wins.
Jayco have the unwanted record of the last team to record a WT win in 2024. on the other hand they have the second most wins by individual riders.
Team is unhappy with Groenewegen losing the wheel in the last 2kms. it was embarrassing watching Mezgec and Bling waiting for him from 1.5kms to go. They will ride today’s stage from the front and Groenewegen will have a rider behind him.
Finally De Pretto gets his first pro win at Austria.
The Cav finally gets a TDF record stage win. Will he stay the course now?
How good was Pogacar up the Galabier, was great seeing the contest…easy to see it will be a battle of 2 again. The rest are just making up numbers.
He just found another gear and off he scooted.
The Pog’s descent on the Col was beautifully executed. Precision and balance, he and the bike were one.
Evenepoel looked good too, although he descends like Andy Schleck.
The bits of the road where the snow was melting, and coming across on the bends, and they were barely slowing up, balls of steel.
You will find that from Next year Cavendish will be some kind of ambassador for the TDF. Cavendish showed his instincts in the way he threaded through the field in the final. It was a joy to watch. Finally, this is not cycling news or sports news, it is world news.
Found it strange in the Tour of Austria that Plapp was riding at the front. Thought he and Dunbar would go for the GC.
