Whereas Orica’s team is the same with one Australian cyclist.

So there is some Drapac in Cannondale Drapac after all?

Two original Drapac riders in the Vuelta squad!

Sanchez tests positive at BMC, out of VdS, interesting how the english speaking press handles this one.

There is something fishy about their being a positive a few days before each of the Grand Tours in 2017.

Nothing fishy at at all! Riders trying to get their best preparation in!
Sammy has always had a bit of a stench about him, only surprise is it’s taken so long.

My suggestion is to whether the testing is rigorous enough during a calendar year. Its too coincidental.

Martin and Sutherland to UAE. Wanted Rory at Orica.

At 35, he’s too old.

do they have to notify as to where they will be for testing purposes?

Sutherland at 35 is the perfect age - Takes over from Hayman and Tuft.

Unsurprisingly BMC win the TTT in stage 1 of the Vuelta - Orica a surprisingly strong performance finishing 5th at 17 seconds behind.

Standard testing policies apply, it’s an Olympic sport after all.

Could be crosswinds in stage 2 of the Vuelta - I worry about A.Yates and Chaves - S.Yates should be OK if he gets protection from a bigger rider - Tuft, Bewley, and Juul-Jensen may have a big job.

Lampeart leads a QS 1-2 from Trentin.
Nibs looked strong as did Chaves. Tonight will tell us who has early strong legs with the first Andorran mountain stage.
Ewan got lost in the Cyclassic in Hamburg.

Ewan was a strange one - Got into a break of 20 riders lead by Impey with 20kms to go - Not the first time Ewan has got lost in sprint, though Mezgec crashed with 15kms to go - Mezgec is an invaluable ally getting Ewan to the last 500 metres.

Chaves looked surprisingly good in the cross winds and if he could have hung on for another 200 metres he would have gained another 5 seconds - Stage 3 will show Chaves’ true form. Trentin’s performance in stage 1 showed what a fine acquisition he will be at Orica.

Good chance to test Haigs legs by getting him in the break today.

Nibali wins after looking cooked on the final climb. A great descender. Froome and Chaves looked to have winning break in the final climb.

Poor old Bertie has gone a year too long.

Stage 2 finish was the bain of one of my dislikes about cycling - Never see the need for a downhill finish in a multi-mountain stage - Froome and Chaves were the strongest - Esteban is back in form.

Trentin wins a messy finish. Pozzovivo lost 3m when he crashed at the 3.2km mark, and Majika was dropped by his own team!

Stephens is living up to his reputation as a strict DS by not allowing Cort to contest the final - Seems a bit silly because there are enough riders to protect the GC riders for the last 3km - Reckon Cort would have won that stage if he was in the right position - He is a touch quicker than Trentin in the sprint - Anyway what an addition Trentin will be to Orica.
