It was a long article, but I think 2 seperate creeps. ‘Funnily’ enough, one recommended the other join the tour.
The doctor sounds like he drugged players, and potentially raped them. The other creep was a coach or selector, sounds like a paedo.

Selective amnesia. The police need to be very thorough as they go through all the stories, l am sure they will be. This is a really bad look for CA coming out of this, they are starting to sound as culpable as the RC church.
I didn’t read the implication on the Dr the same way you did. I thought it sounded more likely the Dr was an accomplice to the coach.
EDIT: on re-read, maybe? It’s very clear that it’s an open question.

I daresay if the journalist hunts enough he’ll find other cases covering a spectrum of sports and other activities which involve children.
Though it will be difficult to criminally prove cases from a long time ago.
