The Team: Salami Cup 2.0

If they drop Colyer the membership card is headed for the microwave.

Nah, I'm goin' slow cooker, 10 hr setting.
I really wanna make a point !

Let’s get a look at this Johanison chap - we want him at the Bombers don’t we?

OBrien and Colyer named on the field for the 2nds.

Yep that's the end of colyer
It has been established for years that the VFL named sides don't mean a thing.

Colyer and Dell both have the same initials so It's pretty obvious who is going to be the sub.

Good to see Hocking named as a forward.  Play him on Morris?

Morris??? You know which one he is right?

Admittedly I know bugger all about opposition teams but I thought he was their good mid sized defender.  Thought Hocking could stop his speedy rebounds from the backline and kick a couple of opportunistic goals.

The sub rule is diabolical for fringe players and development of kids.  it needs to go.  If the AFLPA had any cohuna's they'd be fighting to get rid of it.

Reduce interchange to 20 per quarter if you think an injury means you get rotated out of the game.  it might help the rolling maul nature of footy.  and it then means all 22 players get decent game time, rather than someone fighting for a month at vfl level to get a senior spot, then getting 20 minutes to "impress", then getting dropped again because they need more game time.

Doesn't it come down to good management ?

Take the dogs as an example, they have a dedicated sub specialist, which allows then to give a full game to any players who do indeed deserve a game.

If a club, like ours decides to only use the sub on fringe players they have no real intent on playing over a consistent period of games, that's not the AFL's fault.

I will be very happy with a 4-5 goal win. Very happy.

That said, all we need to keep doing is get the 4 points.

He's their full back and he avoids getting the ball if at all possible.

I would've thought that KR Castlemaine's Mild Salami would the pork product most representative of Stewart.

If thats the case, then we need Dell'Olio and Fantasia playing too. They have Bontempelli, Crameri, Giansiracusa and Libertore. we cant let them beat us in any way.

Brig in Alessio, Mecuri and Misiti

Michael Hibberd, Nick O'Brien, Jake Melksham, Jackson Merrett, Ben Howlett, Cory Dell'Olio, Travis Colyer

OK let's see:

Melksham - untouchable, Howlett & Colyer - safe, will play, Hibberd - green vest

NOB, Jerret and Dell to miss out.

Howlett or Colyer will get the green vest.

Not Trav. Need his speed through-out the game not just at the end. Hibberd likely. Play Winders behind the ball again and easy Pig back into it.

I think we should start with Trav, with a view to subbing him off if he's either not getting a touch or spraying it. Admittedly he looks twice as fast in the last qtr when everybody else has slowed down, but it could take him a qtr just to get into the game.

I'm still not completely sold on him TBH, but he's got my attention. Needs to work on his decision making, and we need to see if he's to be selected in finals or not.

This

Surely Hambo means Murphy, not Morris. A bit like Danks’ interview, the described symptoms don’t match, lol.

He's been great. Against the Pies if he was half a foot taller he would have got plenty more touches too. A lot of kicks went over his head by a few cm. He was great against Adelaide. That goal in the last quarter where he absolutely burnt everyone else to get the footy, then not to mention the gather, stop prop and goal. I like him. We've looked far more dangerous with him in the team.

The Griffen and Cooney ins are every bit as important for Footscray as the Goddard and Hibberd ins are for us.

This will not be an easy game. Footscray played well last week and they are up and full of confidence. We also played well, but we have a very long and depressing history of following outstandingly good performances with outstandingly bad ones, frequently as a result of arrogance and complacency.

Jake Carlisle will not take 19 marks this week and the team will not kick 13.1.

This is a game we should win, but it’s a game we won’t win unless everybody puts in the same intensity and effort as they did against Collingwood, and for the whole four quarters.

With Winders behind the ball now I would love to see Demps play a defensive forward role on Bob Murphy.

Murp gets them out of trouble and sets up a lot of their play, Demps would be one of the very few in the comp that could shut him down.

Would be worth the price of admission to see that contest I reckon, who knows Demps might snag a couple in his 100th…watch the boys get around him if that happens.

Travis ColYEAH!

Pace on every line/strength on every line/skill on every line.

Don't underestimate it.

True, had forgotten he was still going around TBH. They're a lot more even now, he and Griffen are not doing 99% of their good stuff.

They played really well last week, I watched that game.

Forget about ladder position (look at our game vs Pies)

MUST be on mentally.
