The Teams - MELBOURNE v ESSENDON MCG , 7:50pm AEDT Friday, April 5, 2019

Hoping that TBC/Clarke will rotate as the deep forward. They won’t have the speed to push too far up the ground.

Hopefully we’ll now have a strong marking target up forward during a turnover.

Should allow Tippa (the only one that’s been quick enough to get forward to be an option) to be a crumbing forward instead of our only marking option.

Yep, good luck to the guy, here’s hoping he does the red and black proud.

Agree with Clarke. Think he might be a handy pick up.

FFS Bring Ridley back in, he was legit our only shining light in JLT, he’s such a neat user of the footy. Just play the kid

Funny how Geelong are playing young players and have improved on last year, yet we continue to play the same duds week in week out in the hope they might repay the faith. There is no hope for this club and no light st the end of tunnel when we keep giving unwarranted games to Myers and Zaka and to a lesser extent Baguley. None of those players will take us forward, they should have been traded or delisted years ago but we held on in the hope they might come good.

We lack football smarts and ruthlessness on the field and off the field.

Zaharakis is ■■■■■■ lucky he’s still on the paddock after last week’s hesitant, fumble, tentative effort. Tippa is another who needs to go up a gear. Give Ridley a go!

Can the HS hurry up and find out about our tanking scandal. Pleeeasseee…

I would rather Ridley in defence than guelfi or Mutch.

A big part of that though is down to their core group of senior players playing well.

Selwood, Danger, Kelly etc.

The reason we are getting pantsed is because we have had about 18 passengers in the 22 across both rounds.

We’ve put in two putrid performances and the response has been to drop Ridley, Langford and Brown. That’s it. No one else need worry.

It’s interesting that team selection appears to entirely be built around the assumption that everybody is in form.

Ridley out- team structure

Langford - kid (sort of) mistake, bring in other kid

Brown for another ruckman to combat Gawn - team structure

Not one player has been dropped for poor form. Either they don’t care about players out of form or don’t think anybody can come into do any better.

Plus the number of players playing with interrupted preseasons
you can carry a couple but not 8.
and we havent had any real injuries yet during matches, only Daniher & hooker at training.

Yeah the notion of playing a big chunk of underdone players while the kids rot in the twos is short sighted and stupid. And we have lost anyways so it’s hasnt had their desired effect.

Dropping Langford so we don’t have the pressure of a milestone game.

Doesn’t have rapport with teammates, it’s considered flaunting when you hit a target by foot.

How many senior players league wide get dropped for form?

Isn’t that what Melbourne have done as well?

And match committee being stubborn, ie not admitting they made wrong decision, so keep playing them.

Tippa, Merrett, Myers, Zaka, Baguley, could put a blanket over a few of them.

Biggest match selection error was really bringing parish in but not having the balls to drop a midfielder after they got smashed but dropping Ridley instead.
And then we potentially lost the saints match as we were forced to play Guelfi back there, due to match committee stubborness. ANd mids still didnt even fire.

How many senior players have been as out of form as ours for that long?
