The Teams - MELBOURNE v ESSENDON MCG , 7:50pm AEDT Friday, April 5, 2019

For vfl watchers is Mutch playing a more outside role this year? He seems like a guy who thrives in the insides of packs. Not sure his kicking is good enough to be an outside player.

Has he improved in this area?

I wanna see guys like Laverde, Langford, Mutch, Redman & Begely (when fit), D Clarke, Guelfi, Zerk and Ridleyall play senior footy together.

FFS give these kids some game time this year. Not just the bull ■■■■ 1 or 2 token game and then drop/“rest them”

I’d throw D Clarke in for Myers and tell the kid you’ve got the next 15 games to show us what you got, really how much worse could he do?

Edit - also play them in their ■■■■■■■ positions, Clarke in the guts, Mutch on a wing etc none of this HF flank crap

He also got the best out of Jake Carlisle in the backline and probably really got Hooker set up.

Melbourne’s defence is suspect. EFC needs a smaller more mobile forward line to separate their defenders.

Will not make it to Queens birthday weekend.

What a ■■■■■■■ let down.

Thanks for sucking the remaining excitement out the round efc coaching staff.

Play some ■■■■■■■ kids.

Two weeks?

I don’t know. Who did Collingwood drop at round 2 last year?

Look what mixing kids in with experienced players does to revitalize a team. Geelong, Port all playing youngsters and making players earn their position.

Fmd.

You’re kidding yourself if Zaharakis is in a 2 week form slump. And Myers, well he got most improved as a 30-year old which says alot about how bad he was and how ■■■■ we are

Enough is a mutch.

Come on mate don’t you mean 5 rushed blind kicks from Myers out of the middle

Just saying - where are the Zaharakis and Myers equivalents getting dropped around the league? It doesn’t happen as regularly as people think.

FWIW Zaharakis was in our bests round 23, 2018.

Geelong unearth guns year after year: Miers, Clark, Constable. We rarely play our draftees: D Clarke, Houlahan, Ridley. Either they’re not good enough or we’ve made bad choices.

Stanton and Hocking would protest the old boys club idea too.

I don’t know if I want some players injured or the team to keep losing just to see changes which need to happen.

I think a lot rides on the fact these kids flourish under a great development program where they are mentored by champions and leaders like your abletts, danger, Selwood this list goes on, the standard is high and must be adhered in which creates a great culture. Our kids would no doubt be stars in such a program like geelongs, or the hawks

I dont want the players injured at the best of times, but especially now because it gives the selection committee a break.

It’s best he keeps backing the senior players in.

It will be his undoing.

Zaha always seems to be amongst our best we are playing well and winning games. If we pull a rabbit or two out of the hat and win this game I bet Zaha is one of our best. If we lose he will be one of our worst. We just need to work out which games we are going to win and play him then.
Can’t figure out what Ridley has done wrong.
