I thought the afternoon session tomorrow at Rod Laver is all Ground Pass no reserved seats?

No idea but on Ticketek you can buy seats for $59-$99 bucks that give you a bay and a row.

Tony Jones is such an awful host. Is he seriously the best they can come up with?

Also, would a ticketed reserved seat mean you would avoid being excluded because of density limits?

I’m going to buy the $29 tickets in the upper level to guarantee a seat and then move around as there should be lots of room because of the cap.

This swiatek/kanepi match is pretty ordinary tennis. Wouldn’t see either of these two troubling Ash.

I’d need to ask Paula and Aryna for permission first

Any Poles on Blitz who can confirm the correct way to pronounce Swiatek?

I hear many commentators pronounce it as though there’s a random ‘n’ in there like “Sviontek”

IGA

SHHHHWIATEK

Yes, that’s about right.

Polish lads at work say it like Sch veeyan tek

Ok yeah that’s how I’ve heard many of the commentators pronounce it.

I wasn’t sure if they were just stuffing it up or they’d been advised that that’s indeed the correct way. It sounds like it is then.

Just couldn’t figure out where the ‘n’ came from :sweat_smile:

Some seem to pronounce the ‘ia’ as a hard ‘o’ as in shot, but with a nasal intonation

They said the N is definitely in there.
it’s pronounced very much like “yan”

That’s so strange given how it’s spelt.

But then again I’m certain there are equally strange things in English!!

In Polish her name is pronounced ˈɕfʲɔntɛk
