I started watching this match this morning at the Red Cross, as l was donating plasma. Only saw snippets of the first couple of sets. Popryn looks to be building a promising career.
Good win by Thompson to get through.

I’d be backing Jordan Thompson against De Minaur given their relative form/preparation.
Demon is actually a bit stiff that he’s come into the US Open with no tennis and after an injury because this is the kindest path to a grand slam semi final he could ever imagine if he was 100% fit and in form.

Evan’s is cooked, battling with injury and basically just standing there. I’d expect him to pull the pin soon.

No surprises given Evans played the longest match in US Open history a few days ago. Was bound to catch up with him.
It’s been an absolutely dream draw for Demon to get to a 4th round so far.

Still think it will be one of the druggie, the wife basher or the small cat that wins it but a huge chance for someone else like Demon to get in the mix and get to a semi

Popyrin was looking great early but he lost the plot from 4-3 up. Unforced errors flying off his racquet. Tiafoe takes the first 6-4.
Popyrin consolidates the break in the second set. Up 4-1.
