Take it to the ■■■■-take thread
lolyes because this is not the place…
Right so you think you would have done what he has done if you had an old man with some money?
Most people if they get 30 grand from their old man might use it on a deposit for an apartment.
I think a lamppost has a better personality and I dislike the man’s politics, but geezus criticising his achievements as being put down to luck?
I reckon that’s a ■■■■■■■ laugh.

Right so you think you would have done what he has done if you had an old man with some money?
That’s a facile response and impossible to say. I am who am because of my upbringing and experiences. You’re basically asking me if i would have done the same if i was a different person. I can’t know that. Musk dreams about running countries. I dream about providing a stable future for my children.

Most people if they get 30 grand from their old man might use it on a deposit for an apartment.
Lol, we’re not talking 30 grand here. Get real.

I think a lamppost has a better personality and I dislike the man’s politics, but geezus criticising his achievements as being put down to luck?
He was incredibly lucky to get the start that he got. %99.999999999 of all people who have ever existed don’t get that. So yeah, that’s luck. Then it’s about amassing wealth and stacking the deck in your favour. Those are his achievements.
It’s true. There’s lots of people who have family wealth on the scale that musk does who DON’T end up becoming the richest man in the world, or even being moderately successful in growing their wealth.
Musk won the hereditary wealth lottery, sure, but he’s also a genius self promoter and has in his younger days demonstrated real talent for picking long term winners and pouring money into them where a more conventional owner would have folded or cut their losses before the business matured and big $ started rolling in.
Unfortunately I don’t think he’s the same guy any more. Whether it’s age, drugs, 4chan-induced brain rot, or just as simple as his run of luck drying up, his business successes in recent years have been much more due to market power, subsidies, and a lingering cult of personality than innovative thinking. Twitter was a disaster, so is the Boring Company.
Theres a lot of Howard Hughes about the guy, if Hughes had a wheelbarrow full of ketamine and a Twitter account.
A lot of these guys that are very successful early, develop a god-complex and think they can do no wrong. Musk is great example.
You brought up the emerald mine.
It’s documented in a number of biographies on the man, that his old man gave him and his brother 26k to help them start a payments business that eventually led them to PayPal.
Thats the head start he got over someone with talent but no money.
From there he made a fortune and then continued to go all in with what he had.
Elon Musk is a bit of a dipstick personality wise but he’s not ‘lucky’ in terms of success.
Well, you’d have to say he’s luckier to be broken as the sone of the mine owner, rather than the slaves that worked in it.
I see Musk as a gambler who had a good bank roll to start.
Placed a number of large bets and struck it lucky on most of them.
However, the bigger the wins, the greater gambler’s urge to take riskier and riskier bets.
Sooner or later, the luck runs out. There’s an old saying, “quitting while you’re ahead, is not the same as quitting”.
He could have got out when Tesla became a success. Cashed in his chips, taken the money and live the easy life.
Same when Starlink and SpaceX were a success.
But he has stayed too long at the table and got greedier.
I think this DOGE thing is an all-in push that will blow up on him. If not from screwing up the US Economy, but eventually getting on Trump’s wrong side.
This is why I believe Zuckerberg and Bezos have now saddled up on Trump’s side, but are staying low key. They think Elon will screw up, and Trump (who always wants revenge) will take it out on Elon, with Zuckerberg to clean up on the social media side, and Bezos on the space program side.

Well, you’d have to say he’s luckier to be broken as the sone of the mine owner, rather than the slaves that worked in it.
Yes of course.
But still 99.9999999999% of people even with his start don’t get to where he has.
Thats all.
Who gives a ■■■■? Who cares about how successful someone is in business other than pathetic bros? He’s clearly bent his energies toward chaos and it’s already making the world a worse place.
And if anyone here persists in the autism ■■■■ excusing his ‘impulses’, well then the same can apply to the advantages it gives him. He not only got blood money inheritance and a rich model mummy, he got on the spectrum and it gave him canny investment superpowers. Not really his doing then.
You did not just compare that to a 30k inheritance.
LMW got a 30k inheritance, she didn’t inherit an emerald mine.
Anyway, who’s arguing about how rich or lucky he is?
I thought we were arguing about how big a complete and utter tool he is?
Or perhaps, of more relevance, how dangerous he is.
What sort of unelected rich nerd gets to rout and intimidate government departments?

Bill gates, he just went about it a lot more under the radar.
Where’s your proof…or is this just another one of your populist claims that have no basis?
Bill put chips in selected vaccine lots to make cookers his little bic.hes and it worked. They are all his little bic.hes now, and they won’t stop crying about it. Bill Gates, Alpha Nerd.

No it was just a comment above on a post that he was lucky to be where he is/what he has done. Which is silly, luck has very little to do with it. Some luck gets us all to places. But it’s not the predominant feature when it comes to becoming the wealthiest person on the planet and perhaps that’s ever lived. Something else is at work.
I wholeheartedly agree he is also a complete and utter tool.
And since he is the wealthiest and therefore one of the most powerful people on the planet. Thats a dangerous combination.
But look he’s not leading his country into war like say Vladimir Putin or Benjamin Netanyahu - killing thousands.

Ha ha … Space X & Starlink are only getting started, they will both be massively successfull for an least the next decade & he will probably be the worlds 1st Trillionaire.
But lefty woke haters gotta hate, just cause you wish it, doesn’t make it truth. You do not have a clue.
Well if you’re done smoking Elon’s pole and insulting your made up nightmare creatures, maybe you could get back to the Climate Change thread and post some more youtube videos that actually contradict your own feeble arguments. Shahid could do with a laught methinks.
