The Twit show Musk go on

Legacy… Lol.

Exactly. Imagine jerking off about a bloke being ‘remembered’ for chucking money at other people’s ideas. And the way we’re going the only entrepreneur worshipping incels left to stare up at Elon’s poster will be gimps for steroidal chads in a George Miller hellscape.

This movie writes itself.

i think twitter has been a net gain for society

its allowed people to see that without layers and layers of pr and marketing running defence on the rich/powerful that they’re just as fkng stupid and annoying as the rest of us, and just about erased the idea that they’re where they are through nobility or intellegence or work ethic or whatever and not just circumstance

musk can be a visionary and a moron, they are not mutually exclusive traits

Elon Musk has aspergers syndrome.

I don’t know why anyone expects him to be some socially adept human being.

Can we just admire this true riches to more riches story?

He’s an autistic genius, genius

Twitter for all of its troubles was great until Elon come along and made it so much worse. There is not one thing he has done since buying it to make it better. It’s just cesspool of conspiracy nutters and horrendous Chinese made advertising.

That’s every social media and network platform really.

I think they will get twitter “right” simply because its worth it to do so.

Was talking the other day to a friend. IMHO the only way to run a social media of such size is to make:

  1. Community Notes/self monitoring/community censorship easy.

  2. Make it easy to only receive a list of posts from either accounts that have paid the right to do so(weeds out bots) and those you follow.

Those that have paid to be there Twitter has an obligation to monitor they are not breaking any laws.(eg decency/defamatory etc). It should be part of the contract of sale.

If it’s too hard to run the network to country laws - leave the country.

With Musk - if his car company gets the cheap self driving taxis going.

That will be the best gift too the environment any business has given since the invention of renewables.

Needing 1 car will go down to needing 0 cars for many.

Because when you take the cost of the driver out of a cab they should become very cheap point to point modes of transport.

Perhaps you will just have a self driving car subscription where one just turns up at your house whenever you need it.

i envy your optimism. i really do.

the vehicles still need to be built and maintained, and the systems that keep them driverless also need upkeep and maintenance. it’ll just be replacing one labour cost with another labour cost. plus there’s those quarterly earnings updates for the shareholders to think about.

it will never be cheaper than what it is currently

the point of automation is to remove the variabilities that come with using humans - absences, illness, unionising, safety protocols, varying efficiency - not to make service delivery cheaper. any cost savings just go to the shareholders.

Maybe

Theres plenty of competition in the taxi and rideshare industry.

So much so that people are ditching them at current prices.(ie with a driver…)

All it takes is the cost of vehicles to increase. Why own when you can very conveniently rent? Self driving means cars dropped off at your doorstop and can be returned without you accompanying them.

Something you could do owning or renting the car.

The driver being removed takes our 6 figures of cost per vehicle. Maintenance is there with or without a driver.

A subscription model with cars on your doorstep will switch people from thinking they need to own them.

Its basically the same as owning one.

You’ll find this is the key element behind the push for automation
