has anyone else see this recent trend of people using Xitter as an example of why it’s a GOOD idea to sack a bunch of your workforce because of apparently how much better X is now vs before?
Even though by no metric is it better now (aside from all the cooker stuff) it crashes more, it’s load times are shower, traffic is down and ad revenue has tanked, bots are up etc.
‘Private likes’ sounds like an own-goal in almost every way. Unless, of course, you want to hide bot accounts and dog whistle to those who confuse free speech with freedom from criticism.
I had a few of these posts pop up on my feed yesterday.
I get bots liking the tribute i posted about dad when he passed. It’s not nice.
That’s what it’s about for mine. Twitter is tanking in terms of real live active users, but Musk needs to be able to point at increasing activity metrics to pretend things are all hunky dory. Bots make the site suck, but they can be relied on to be actively engaged in liking and replying to stuff, so they make the numbers look good. But he’ll want to hide as much as possible the that it’s the bots doing this. He can’t hide replies without killing the actual fkg function of the site, but he CAN hide how how bot-contaminated the Like activity is.
Musk will get his Tesla remuneration package approved. Much more than what he paid for twitter. Twitter to him is a way to push his political view and agenda. He doesn’t care what left and centrist people think of him or X.
Note:
Not giving a view on if this is good or bad. I just like what he has done with Tesla and SpaceX.
This random video playing after you watch a video is starting to ■■■■ me.
Must be having a massive effect on engagement stats
I think half his problem is that he does seem to care, or needs something from social media to fill some emotional gap. It’s a hell of an expensive compulsion to ■■■■-post he has.
Hopefully he can contain his fumbles to Twitter, I agree. I’m a big fan of SpaceX.
For someone who manages several billion-dollar companies, he spends an insane amount of time shitposting on Twitter.
Some days more than 8 hours
Had his 12th confirmed kid.
I was looking for that tweet!
At one point yesterday, Seven’s youtube page was redirecting to Tesla’s youtube page. Talk about a Twilight Zone moment.
I’m going “oh ■■■■, Elon just bought the Seven network”
