Yeah, heard them mention on Adelaide radio last week that in the decade from 1980-89 Adelaide had 37 days of 40+ degrees. From 2010-2019 we have had 69 days (including today) and there is still nearly a fortnight to go

Close to a million other records were broken though!
The guy from the BOM listed about a dozen different ones that were broken, he rattled them off like a shotgun.

The ABC (AM) this morning said it was a country record yesterday. But you say it wasn’t, so now I don’t know who to believe!(seriously, I really don’t)
Time to fill up the bird baths and place water bowls in shade under trees. Possums suffer in the extreme heat, so do birds and koalas etc.

Adelaide cop some absolute stinking hot days. That’s been 3-4 days on the trot of 40+?
Yeah, heard that. They were wrong. It was an all-time national average record Tuesday, then an all-time national average record Wednesday, then it slacked right off yesterday.
Back on the job, likely, today though.
Note these are records for any time of the year, not just December.

We have gone far longer before but it was always the end of Jan through to early March but now we are seeing 40’s in November and December more frequently
39 here right now. Heading for 47!

Sounding like a parent here but keep the fluids up. Plenty of water, dehydration in this weather is pretty common…
My local Ritchies in Balnarring loves a heat wave. Having listed watermelon at around $1.50 per kilo earlier in the week, they’ve raised the price to $3.50 to celebrate. FU Mr Ritchie.

45.2 at Edinburgh currently and there is a pretty big grassfire about 2km away. About a dozen fire units have screamed past
They’re saying it’s actually drifted down from the NSW fires!
