EC now looking much better for next week.
Monday and Tuesday low 30s and perhaps a mid 30s on Thursday. Wednesday with a mid twenties.

GFS still looks hot on Monday and Tuesday before the cool down on Wednesday but nothing out of the ordinary for the rest of the week.

Weather Situation

Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties, and minimum temperatures in the mid teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions expected to develop over the weekend and into early next week, before gradually easing later in the week.

Locations likely to be impacted include Melbourne Metropolitan Area, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Horsham, Mildura, Melton, Maryborough, Shepparton and Traralgon.

The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm EDT on Saturday 1 February 2025

Another impressive temperature gradient today in Melbourne.

25°C at Port Melbourne, 27°C in the city, 33°C at the airport, 37°C at Greensborough … just a bit of a sample there.

Looks like Melbourne and some of the suburbs hasn’t quite reached the max today. Still stinking hot though.
