Yeah the new website sucks.
It was windy enough to blow a dog off its chain today in Portland, but thankfully it’s relatively calm now with the worst of it behind us.
No trees down or other damage at my joint which is a relief given the severity of the warnings. I’d not heard of destructive wind gusts before today.
However, if anybody across the other side of town is missing a garden shed …

After a record warm October for many locations around the country, the next 10-14 days is looking decidedly cloudy, wet and MUCH cooler than average for a majority of the country.
No significant warm ups for much of the south-east and east in particular for at least the next two weeks.
The start of October in Sydney was nuts. A few mid-30s days with one day getting to 38⁰C! There was some talk that we’d have the most anomalous month in 168 years of records. We were still 4⁰C+ above average for the month even with the cooler temps to finish off the month. I’m glad it will be cool-ish for the next couple of weeks.
Freakin’ light hail in the sunshine.
I love you, Melbourne, but sometimes you’re just weird.
I’m over the last few days. Could really do with some proper sunshine.
Aurora alert for tonight if you’re in a spot where there’s not much light and no clouds.
Going off in the northern hemisphere.
Should be good viewing here, assuming you can find a good spot.
How the fark does it cost up to $150m?
150 people on $1m to make a website?
It’s a clear night at the moment, good viewing conditions.
$500k for concept+design+build
$500k for infrastructure
$149m for coked up accenture consultants to sit around in board rooms for 12 months and talk about how good they are
Same. We have one sunny and warmish day every 2-3 weeks. Never consecutive or so it seems.
Depressing
If I can capture this in Thornbury with my Samsung phone, it must be stunning in darker locations. It’s faint but it is there.
I got nothing. South facing is the hardest for me to capture as the street lights are awful.
Lovely starry night though but boy the heyfever is off the charts!
Did grab this with the pixel 6 pro but I reckon it’s light pollution (the smear on the right).
