the rock stuff is insanely nonseical, has been for a while, they’ve said he can do what he wants and for a guy who claims to care about the industry he sure knows how to shyte on it - I say this as an old bloke who left uni and went to WM17 cos of the rock, but showing up to start the journey then disappearing was trash - which he delivers on the regular.
Miro makes WWE return
I’m gonna guess he didn’t need to lose. Hopefully he doesn’t walk away if booked to do so.
He’ll be hot for 6 months…… then get lost in the roster
Needs a Trios title, to be held by Miro/Reed/Cobb.
Not a serious suggestion; they struggle with tag teams as is.
Ha; I wrote that before reading about the first match on Raw…
Haha
That thought went through my mind as well
The fact that nut shots were responsible for the win in both main events, and that Iyo and Dom basically had the same “win” setup was farcical from HHH… let alone the whole Travis Scott interference.
Gee whiz, what a fkn let down.
HHH just isn’t a good booker. He was saved last year with the rock turning heel in the lead up to WM and carrying that feud
They included a Frida Kahlo image? I gotta see that.
And for a detailed summary of AAA’s history, status, nature, and possible futures read the below. It’s long, but it explains well what has just been bought.
Here’s a snippet:
The past twelve months of AAA were booked as if by an arsonist, seeking to generate the most heat possible, regardless of the damage done. They had Alberto destroy all the top tecnicos they could, giving the distinct impression they believed it would be someone else’s problem to deal with what came after Latin Lover finally stopped Alberto. John Bradshaw Layfield was introduced into the AAA storylines as the representative of an unnamed group seeking to acquire the promotion. In AAA’s storyline, heels JBL and Dorian wanted to find a way to take control of the company entirely away from Dorian’s mother Marisela Pena. Still, AAA was frequently spending TV time telling its viewers that AAA was going to be sold. They weren’t lying. The lack of a formal announcement from AAA’s side has likely left many fans confused, wondering if this news was the next part of the storyline – one that continued on TV with one more JBL promo hours teasing a sale, hours after the company was actually sold.
It is unclear what WWE is getting from AAA. AAA uses a lot of wrestlers, but the vast majority of them appear to be under verbal deals. Hijo del Vikingo, who appeared on WrestleMania, and Alberto el Patron, who did not, are the most likely to be signed. Plenty are not. Psycho Clown appears not to be, works his schedule, and has a backup name at the ready in case things ever break down with AAA. Pagano’s appeared to be a freelancer for many years. AAA does not own buildings outside of its corporate office in Mexico City.
…
Recent AAA shows have started with a video package discussing the family history of the promotion, explaining the work done by both Antonio Peña and Joaquin Roldan (who passed away in 2017) to lead the company. The package ends the way most AAA shows start, with Marisela Pena in the crowd holding an urn implied to contain Peña’s remains. I have no idea what’s actually in the urn, but the idea serves as a reminder that Antonio Peña’s vision will always be with AAA. Dorian Roldan and Marisela Pena appeared at both the announcement of AAA’s sale and at ringside during WrestleMania. The urn was not present. The era of Antonio Peña’s vision of AAA is over, and the future of AAA will be the vision of new eyes.
It looks like they’re gonna be partnering the AAA with NXT.
That final 10 mins of raw was better than 8 hours of Mania
Bron has everything except height. It’s been teased, but cool that he’s officially the next Heyman guy now.
For posterity:
I went to the Frida Kahlo exhibition in Bendigo the weekend before last. She would not have been happy with this appropriation of her image by members of Gringolandia.
Becky turned heel eh
Have her join Rollins,Breaker,Heyman and they create a new stable
P.S. When did the ■■■■ direction (jerky camera, rapid repeated cuts during action) come back? So terrible.
P.P.S. The horror movie shot of Orton appearing was awesome though, and a welcome contrast to the standard sudden appearance of people from out-of-frame (e.g. see Bron later on).
I feel like H has always said he wants the ability to send young wrestlers around the world as part of their training to get more road experience, just seems to be building out that capability under control of the mothership
I must admit Orton squashing Hendry and then doing his pose post match made me giggle.
Like we all knew the DQ was going to happen the moment Vaquer and Sky decided to have a match, but what an absolute clinic of a performance by them both.
love the cena doomsday clock
i hope he rolls out during some random smackdown, points at the screen as it changes from like 22 to 21, then leaves
-edit- that said, i do hope we get a punk/cena mini feud thats a reverse of their 2011 run, having punk out to prevent cena leaving with the belt
