whatever it is has also killed cody’s heat, the hole E is just a maga yawn show at the moment.
Might be a typo, might not be.
I think it’s fair to say when it comes to creative or booking good tv- neither HHH or cena has any clue what they are doing
I think HHH has been in the wrestling bubble for so long, he has no idea what fans want anymore. Also can he possibly put himself in the spotlight more? It’s staggering how much he puts himself front and centre in every single thing they do
with brock now back. My prediction is Vince will appear on a WWE show within the next 12 months
Triplemania has traditionally been a chaotic dumpster fire (with specks of gold). The first Triplemania under WWE ownership was this weekend and was brutally cookie-cuttered into the WWE mould.
I mean, I’m glad the 60+ year-old veterans weren’t all over it and looking about to die in slow motion, and then random quick finishes, but any reading of AAA as the rebel local company is clearly dead. There were some entertaining matches and moments (and it was thankfully only three hours long) but an AAA product it was VERY MUCH NOT.
And LOL at the crowd crapping all over champ Vikingo despite the company trying to put the rub of Rey Mysterio (and others) on him. I understand this involuntary heel turn is due to strong local support of Alberto del Rio’s previous run as champ, and HATRED for how he was instantly jobbed out (and sacked) for the WWE’s nomination.
All but one match had at least one WWE wrestler in it. The main event (including run-ins) was ELEVEN WWE-signed talents (OK, one of those eleven is also AAA-signed).
You can watch the whole show for free (English commentary below):
The funniest bit was when the guy they love but shouldn’t was taken out by the run-in by the guy everyone should and does love and then they realised the guy they really hate but shouldn’t would win as a result.
The crowd’s brains broke at that moment. Clearly the bookers were convinced the crowd was WRONG, and would just accept whatever they were told.
Ticketmaster teasing announcement for AEW return to Australia (not specifically to QLD).
Presumably the next Grand Slam will be announced during Forbidden Door this weekend.
Melbourne, please.
Apparently Sydney AND Melbourne in February.
LOL, WWE just has to control the narrative.
ANNOUNCE house show at Rod Laver on Wed 15 October.
Good for Australia overall.
WWE in Perth Melbourne
AEW in Sydney Brisbane.
Going back soon. Cardiff is a small site (~5,000) but Manchester is the biggest (and newest, opened last year?) indoor arena in the UK (>20,000).
They got 101% (19,000) into the O2, so the latter should be a decent payday.
Glad I came in here, busy week and wondered why people have been talking about Cena and flat whites at work
Rikishi’s WWE ID-affilated company is going to get burnt, and hopefully this ■■■■ gets jailed for a very very very long time.
Was premeditated assault on an unconscious person by the MMA (never pro-wrestled) attacker; him planning it is captured across many videos.
Management in the earlier videos being clueless, and there is a later video showing zero remorse.
WARNING: video of (call a spade a spade) attempted homicide at the link below.
On happier aspects, the past six weeks of Young Bucks story after they lost their Executive Vice President status has been disrespectful comedy gold.
If they hadn’t continued to align themselves with the Death Riders, they’d have already been turned face (and that’s something that no one would have predicted plausible in 2025).
Yesterday they finally gave them an “and already in the ring” introduction:
Crowd giving them the “WHO ARE YA” chant today, and then singing along with their demanded restoration of the Buck’s “old music”.
I love that Tony Khan will pay extra to licence the right music… and then have jokes about how much it is costing.
I saw the footage. That’s sickening to watch
Ne needs to be in jail for a long long time.absolutely disgusting
It’s a start.
Best match seen in person this weekend: MCW #1 contendership match Robbie Thorpe vs Tommy Knight: two big men slapping meat AND doing technical dances.
Best match seen otherwise: Bandido (c) vs Hechicero for the ROH World Championship is up there for Match of the Year.
Athena (c) vs Mina Shirakawa is pretty bloody good too.
The first can be seen on YouTube from Friday,. The last two can unusually be seen free on YouTube right now due to an unrelated streaming failure. Last two matches at the below link (the Paul Walter Hauser match earlier on is surprisingly good for a little round celebrity).
Whether it is a mistake or not (pretty damn sure the latter as they try to sink the not-a-competitor by running versus All Out), it’s embarrassing.
(AJ is awesome, that’s not the point.)
Someone (possibly HBO max, announced today) has blinked.
AEW ‘ALL OUT’ and WWE ‘WRESTLEPALOOZA’ will be taking place on the same day but now no longer be going head-to-head.
‘ALL OUT’ will be taking place earlier in the day at 3PM ET whilst ‘WRESTLEPALOOZA’ will air at 7PM ET.
Now to see if WWE can quickly rustle up a new NXT show or the like for the afternoon.
Not that it matters; someone who would consider paying for the AEW PPV is not going to change their mind based on that.
