Courtney and Alana back in Darwin!
But Tiwi fell short 5.7.37 versus St Mary’s 6.10.46
That lets St Marys replace them in fourth place.

Women had the bye, and moved up to fourth after Palmerston lost to second-placed Nightcliff.
The men also had the bye, and are fifth (of nine) by (probably) one game.
The score of that game isn’t up yet, but you’d guess Waratah managed to beat winless Darwin.
Tiwi ladies have a game and huge percentage lead on Palmerston after beating them 80-22. Jelene Tipungwuti had a PB three goals to lead on that measure, and joins Maria Rioli as equal 11th for the league for goals.
The Palmerston men are much less impressive (one win for the season) and were beaten 55-23
Actually, I’m not sure whether the game was completed…
Women hold onto fourth by a game plus large percentage despite losing narrowly to second-place Nightcliff.
Still 8 rounds to go (it’s a serious-length season, unlike the AFLW).
Next game is versus third-place St Mary’s.
Men lost 55-116 to third-placed Nightcliff. That resulted in the two teams swapping fourth for fifth (a draw is the margin). There is no pressure from below.
(Darwin lost 8-211 to Southern Districts!)
Brandon Parfitt returned to his junior club and help Nightcliff get the win.
This Munkara goal is ridiculous.
Slightly more detail, but months after Blitz broke the news.
I saw another vid of a running goal from him somewhere, that was amazing.
He looked fit and strong and was moving well.
That is an insane bounce or few.
I seriously hate watching this, knowing that insane skill is what we need. Still cannot understand why Munkara was removed so quickly. People we know in NT say he is a polite young man with no known issues.
Women down to sixth with a 5-6 record.
It’s a bit of a sick league, with the bottom three teams on 2, 1, and zero wins… Wanderers’ percentage is 3.35%, and lost 0-170 this past week.
We play them this week, and need a percentage boost for this last six-rounds-run for finals.
Maddi Shaw is the only NTFLW player to be named in her team bests 9 times this season (from 11 games)… come back to EFC and actually play this year, please!
Men are fifth by percentage, but with one more game played than fourth and second.
Bottom two teams have one win total and percentages of 42 and 38.
Munkara leads Tiwi with 17 goals (league-best is 33). Only named in the team bests three times, though; barely in the Tiwi top ten.
Yep it was a terrible call, hopefully he comes back as a mature age player like tippa.
A good football club will look at a player with that sort of talent and realise he will need coaching on how to become a professional footballer, and that progress in that area is rarely linear and will take time, but it will be worth it in the long run.
There needs to be a special list consideration where you could select a player like that, and have them for several years to work through those things
Think of it like a rookie list, but like a variant, you could call it a rookie B list or something.
I’d also like to see Rookie B list players have the opportunity to play at lower levels, as part of their development.
If it makes sense for Munkara to play 50% for Tiwi/Keilor/etc and 50% for the VFL squad…… then so be it.
There should be that level of flexibility.
