Tiwi Bombers - bouncing back

would have helped other Cat B recruits in the past to like McBride and Lavender and Hird. Even letting Munkara play as a overager in NAB league would have been something.

maybe let every club have 1 player allowed to play NAB league. would strengthen the comp for the juniors coming through.

last year for example could have let Vissentini or Lual play at the Cannons.

Vissentini given long term prospect would probably be the one. But lual did struggle adjusting to VFL as well. Vissentini was pretty handy at times, got on the end of a few goals, byt maybe could ahve been a one out ruckman in NAB league.

Think back to Dustin Fletcher playing school footy or AFL.

I donā€™t really like the U/18 league idea because you want kids gunning to be drafted to get as much game time as possible. That would inhibit it.

But playing EDFL or some lower (either state or local) league could work.

You can do that. Richmond had one of their Cat B Rookie ruckman playing in the VAFA this year. It might have been because of his position, but if it can done for one it should be available for everyone.

Elsewhere, Tiwi Bombers easily accounted for Wanderers on Saturday with a crushing 145-point win at Tracy Village Oval. The Bombers ran rampant with 14 unanswered goals in the opening half, which was extended to 18 at three-quarter time. Wanderers got on the board in term four through Ashlee Wallis.

Meanwhile, the scoring was shared between 11 Bombers, including six multiple goalkickers. Freda Puruntatameri snagged five majors, while Maria Rioli finished with four and Jamie Lee Puautjimi managed three. Arthurina Moreen was named best on for the victors.

Moreen ruck? Just one goal.

152-7, narrowed the margin to fourth to 13.7%ā€¦ that is off one more game, but we play Palmerston in two weeks so have the chance to make our case for top four. Otherwise, both teams have two other eminently winnable games on the way home.

Elsewhere in Round 13, Tiwi produced the largest winning margin of the weekend after dispatching Wanderers to the tune of 71 points at Tracy Village Oval. Six unanswered goals in the opening quarter set the tone for a big Bombers victory, and only extended the gap to the top five.

Josh Muraca was a shining light for the Muk Muks, amassing 27 touches and kicking their only two goals. Kim Kantilla went two better for the Bombers with four majors as Matthew Parker showed his class to notch 30 disposals, seven tackles and six clearances.

And the Bombers prevail, move up to second.

In days that seem ancient now but are really not that long ago, it was possible to bring a player up from a bush team and he could do well. Kevin Sheedy did that before the AwFL changed the rules to make us more like the NFL.
