Today I Learned

Not only do I have arthritis in 2 fingers of my left hand after a training incident in the 80s, but I’ve been having trouble with the toe next to the little toe on my left foot, which causes a heap of pain when out walking. Saw the doctor about it six weeks ago, and he says “you’ve broken that toe, haven’t you? And now it’s arthritic”. Thought about it, “yeah, got hit by a yorker from a quick who normally played 4 grades higher. Against Carnegie South, Lord’s Reserve, Carnegie. About 1978. ■■■■, it hurt”

Bailey Dale exists.

But only near the end of the game, when someone mentioned he was the least bad dog of all time.

Brad Scott and our skipper apparently didn’t think he existed either

No surprise that the bloke that the coach fully stood behind and supported came out and got BOG

Theres alot of stuff on here that I knew about ages ago but no one asked me.

The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) samples Chicago.

Careful… you’ll have swoods hunting you down…

It honestly wouldn’t surprise me.

I really rate Hard To Say I’m Sorry, especially. I mean…I could go full nerd break down the song and look at how brilliant it is.
If You Leave Me Now and Hard Habit To Break are very good.
Their other eighties stuff is too schmaltzy even for me, and that’s saying something.

And I just don’t understand their other 70’s stuff. I’m like…what even is this?

They’re not for me.
I like 25 or 6 to 4 and that’s probably about the beginning and end of it… was not a fan of their 80’s output at all…

TIL that John Halsey, who portrays the drummer Barry Wom of The Rutles in the very funny Beatles pisstake “All You Need Is Cash”, played drums on Lou Reed’s classic “Transformer” album.
