Agree 100% with this. If we were aiming for a flag next year replacing Jobe with Rocky makes sense. However we probably need to take step back first and give game time to the next gen mids to sort the wheat from the chaff. Otherwise Mutch, Langford, Lav will be playing VFL next year and we will be no closer to knowing if they will make it.
Well, to start with, I reckon we should be aiming for a flag next year. Get the trade and recruiting mix right and there’s no reason we shouldn’t.
Secondly, Rockliff is being seriously undersold here. What he isn’t is just an accumulator, he’s an in and under clearance specialist who is also one of the better tackling midfielders. With Jobe gone he’s exactly what we need.
The bonus is that he’s also a very handy forward, and costs nothing.
For mine we should be going after him, he is pretty much the answer(or a major part of) to our biggest issue

He is both of those things and is a pretty good user aswell
The crap about him being 28 makes no sense to me at all, we made finals this year so why wouldnt we be aiming to go deep into september next year?
Agreed, and as stated by others, costs us absolutely nothing in terms of draft picks.
As such, his inclusion has little impact on us building for the future.

But I agree with you, I think the next couple of years are about rolling the dice with the Hooker, Hurley, Heppell, Zaka group… real chance to make some finals runs and Rockliff really matches what we need.

I have heard we are into him. Of course I have only heard it on here so who knows.
The blitzers in the know seemed to indicate we weren’t chasing him. That was a while ago though.
