Eddie Nketia has broken the Australian all-conditions record in the 100m with a time of 9.84 seconds at a meet in the United States.

But Nketia’s time will not count as a new national record, despite eclipsing Patrick Johnson’s 9.93 from 2003, because of an illegal tailwind of 2.3 metres per second.

Did he win the race?

2nd in the heat - doesn’t appear to be a final, that was the fastest heat, so essentially the final result.

That’s some good running. Wonder if he can back it up in legal conditions.

That’s the “women’s only race” WR.

The feedback on the original “one race” Adidas shoes from a couple of years ago was they could easily go well beyond that.

The thing with the shoes is that some are responders and some aren’t in the studies that have been done. (And they’re all small sample size and it’s hard to have a good methodology because humans). But you’d think Adidas would have absolutely built these to maximise response for these guys. For us chumps who are paying for our own shoes we won’t know if we respond to that particular foam/geometry setup until we’ve spent the dollars.

I would imagine there’s little point in getting these specific shoes as a regular runner vs the Adidas Pro 4 or the Alphaflys 3 or the Meta speed Sky Tokyo, or the Fast R 3. Any of those shoes may (or may not) work better for you.

I’m just looking at discount runners these days, can’t afford top of the range, only last years models. Not really doing the kms to justify it either, battling patella tendonitis. Thought getting better then set back again.

Ordered these the other day.

Looks good. Apparently they’re about the most stable of the super shoes of that gen, so should do well. I got some Vaporfly 4s from the Nike Outlet for $108 the other day. No idea if they’ll help me run any quicker for anything, but they’re a fun shoe based on the 2 runs I have in them.
