Adelaide traded two first rounders for Gibbs.
I thought it was idiotic.
So it has proven to be.
Now they’re scrambling around trying to work out how to draft Lukosius/Rankine.
Two first rounders is almost always too much.
He had multiple trade options on the go, and did a kind of reverse auction.
Whoever offers the best value first, he takes it. And it leaves him with a bit more value to offer around in later deals.
Maybe this year he weighs up Shiel, Cerra, Jack Martin, Tyson…versus the available first rounders like Hately et al…while pondering FAs like Gaff, Wallis…and he just saunters down the shopping aisle taking the best/cheapest mix he can.
In summary, multiple options helps to get good value.
As many have been stating over the last few year midfielders midfielders midfielders…we actaully caught up a bit but need the topping off…now who would have thought stringer playing in the ruck daniher not playing brown as the key forward(until the coach moved hooker forward)…with the supposed new rules coming in it will mean you need even more midfielders speed up and down the ground!.
