Trade Discussion 2018 thread #1 - We’re gonna need a bigger boat for the wave pool!

Pffft, I bet my dad could beat up TazHawk’s dad.

And no disrespect to any of them but I take more notice of the hollow words of his manager than the hollow words of any internet forum poster.

I’m feeling trade burn out. I need to pace myself more.

Don’t be so unkind.

Looks like someone cloned Gil but made a more ruthless version.

Is this Tom Scully that everyone seems to want related to the Tom Scully who was a spud and a laughing stock for years? Just checking

Yeah, Kennett really mouths off in the dunnies at Launceston.
Inside info my ■■■■ to quote another club president.

He was never a spud. Injured AF though. He’s been very very very good for GWS the last 2-3 years*

*notwithstanding that missed this year through injury. His body would be my biggest point of concern with him.

Come on Chops. His name was a punchline for years.

I know he had a good year last year, and maybe the year before, but he’s not getting any younger, has had the whole last year off injured, and is absolutely no guarantee of getting back to the player he was (briefly).

Do not want.

Lol, this not five minutes after this post.

Try harder.

Who ever confirmed we were after Shiel?

Tom Browne

Oh, I see. That confirms it then

Just fantasising a pathway here, if Gaff wants to come to Essendon:

  • Step 1: Dilute our pick 9 down to a late first-rounder…ideally by trading it for a quality young player…or at worst send it somewhere like Adelaide for two picks.
  • Step 2: What are Gaff’s other prospective homes, and what picks do they have? North won’t have a first rounder after Polec. Saints’ first will be diluted after Hannebery. Melbourne don’t have a first. Hawthorn only have a late first…and now Essendon only has late firsts…so WC can’t necessarily match, and then expect a much better deal via trade than the compensation pick.
  • Step 3: Gaff’s manager threatens WC that if they match, preventing him from going to his preferred destination, he will put a draft price on his head that only North or Saints could afford.

Don’t wake me up.

Fog or someone probably wrote 'she’ll be right mate", someone misread it, and the next thing you know the thread is 9000 posts

Yer probably. I reckon it may have been a furphy. Why give away who you are really after. Keep the cards close to the chest!

I’d love to see Connors Diary
