That is very interesting. On this basis it’s a bizarre trade that they’ve done.
How much are they allowed to go into debt if they want to match a Green bid at 5 or 6?
By my count they’re about 700 points short.
If they’re allowed to do it, by my count it would wipe out their 2020 2nd rounder and push 1 of their 3rd rounders (they have 2 currently - 1 from North) back a bit.

Delisted Bomber Mitch Brown has an excellent opportunity to push his case to play for a third AFL club, with Melbourne confirming the utility is set to train with the club next month.

It was reported last week the Demons had emerged as a potential suitor for Brown after they’d shown some interest in him.
Melbourne football boss Josh Mahoney confirmed on Tuesday night that Brown would be given the opportunity to train with the club.

“It’s exciting that Mitch has accepted an invitation to train with us post the draft on December 3,” Mahoney said.
“Mitch is an experienced versatile tall and has shown that he can perform at AFL level.
“He is an elite runner and a reliable shot at goal so it will be good to have him around the club during the pre-season.”

It means Brown won’t be taken as a delisted free agent, but can be picked up during the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP).
In a surprise move, Brown was delisted by Essendon just before the first list deadline (October 31), despite a solid 2019 campaign that saw him kick 21 goals in 16 games in 2019, including four hauls of three or more goals.
Melbourne struggled to kick a winning score in 2019, averaging just 71.3 points per outing — ranked 17th in the AFL. Mid-sized forward Christian Petracca was the club’s top goalkicker with 22 majors — just one more than Brown’s haul for Essendon in 2019.
Brown played 55 games for the Bombers but was particularly instrumental in his first season at Essendon, playing 21 games while most of the Bombers’ list were sidelined because of the supplements saga. Overall, he’s kicked 68 goals from 70 AFL games.
However Brown has also been played in defence during his time at both Essendon and Geelong, where he played 15 games.
Headline needs more words to be effective.

The Giants will be losing a few high profile players next year in all likelihood which will give them points to play with.
Adelaide also would have a handshake deal to not bid on Green if he slides past Sydney (unlikely imo)

Another pick swap apparently went down between Hawthorn and North.
Yes north now has pick 26 27 and 30. So really have the potential to spoil our party, but given they have 3 so close together they pick for needs with 1 or 2 of them as opposed to best available.
Also gives them a very strong hand to move up the order.

What did north give back Hawks?
Next year’s second rounder, I believe. Plus this year’s third and fourth rounders.
Means Hawthorn can now trade out next year’s first rounder because they now have a second rounder. The

I have no idea what it means or what it’s in aid of to hate it.
And at least it’s under 3 lines.
I’m actually not sure I notice anything beyond the players name these days TBH, but I’m sure someone enjoys them.
Meanwhile, we’re doing sweet FA as usual.

We may not have anything of interest to other clubs. Our two picks in the 30s aren’t neccesarily attractive to everyone. We could try to trade a future pick to get into the first round but then again, Dodoro and team may not rate this years first round as highly as other clubs. Considering the circumstances of us having nothing to work with, I’m content with us doing nothing.

Trades in Stringer, Saad, Smith, Shiel - raids the Hawks of their own academy prospect Mosquito, recruits two of the most highly sought after Irish footballers on the market - you are right - EFC doing sweet FA as usual - those mediocre fools.

Don’t we need to use next year’s first rounder?
Not if we convert it into a first round pick this year. You need to take one every 4 years, so if we used a first round pick this year it resets.
