Paddy McCartin will reportedly be delisted by St Kilda.
According to various reports, McCartin and the Saints mutually agreed that it was best the former No.1 draft pick sat out the 2020 season to deal with his ongoing concussion symptoms.
It’s understood McCartin, who is contracted for next year, will be paid in full despite being delisted.
The 23-year-old has suffered eight concussions during his luckless 35-game career.
By sitting out next season, McCartin hopes be to re-drafted in 2021.
No way he gets back to AFL

It’s felt like a slow-moving trainwreck playing out, watching the various comebacks and now this.
If he does play local footy, hope he plays a low level so isnt at risk of knocks.
If he does play - Should just play the Plugger/Lloyd/Fev role.
lead out of the goal square at the footy. So get footy get kicked directly at you and not have to fly in packs.
It would be a very silly move to play any footy next year IMO.

To me it sounds like everyone around him wants him to retire and focus on the other side of footy. But he is a 23 year old man who has dreamt of playing footy his whole life so he isn’t willing to put a line through it just yet, no matter what others say.
Hopefully a year out of the game and a focus on other areas of life and how he can still be involved will help sway him. TBH I would be surprised if any club will get him playing footy again for them.
